That is super cute! I would also like to know if you hand appliquéd the elephants and balloons or machine appliquéd them on. I did mine by hand. What about the balloon strings? I haven't tackled that yet.
I like how you quilted it! Thanks for sharing! |
I machine appliqued the elephants and balloons. I have tried hand applique and could never get the end product like I wanted it, so now I just machine applique. For the balloon strings I just did used a heavy straight stitch. I think it makes 3 stitches on top of each other.
The pattern is actually very simple. You just use 5 inch squares and width of fabric pieces. The pattern calls for ric rac but I used that on a quilt once and it never looked nice after it was washed, so I just used strips for that part.

Adorable! And love the colors.

That is a cute quilt!
Why not make as many as you want from one pattern? I bet everyone of them is "different" from the others. That is one of the fun/creative/exciting things about making quilts - one can make so many variations using one pattern. |
What a precious quilt, and I love the way you quilted it in just one direction.

Sew cute and I love the colours. I can see why you'd enjoy making it!
