Another Mommy and Me Quilt
2 Attachment(s)
I had to make another one of these. I just love this pattern. This one is navy and teal and will be perfect for a little boy. I have another one cut out. It is coral and gray and I think it will be cute, too. Then I am going to move on to another pattern for awhile. I am so prone to getting in a rut.

I just love your fabrics. Such a pretty quilt
That is sooo cute....I can see why you enjoy making them.
Navy and teal look wonderful together. Can you tell me the name of your pattern please?
I don't blame you for making several of these they are so cute!
Too, too cute!
Great job...cute quilt. Did you machine or hand appliqué your elephants? I hope it is a fun pattern and not too fussy. My DIL is due in December and just purchased the pattern and fabric and is mailing them to me in the next week or so to assemble. I have not done a lot of appliqué yet.
Oh that is so sweet! I love it!
I love this one. Good job.
Oh I love it! Where did you get the pattern from? I love the colors!
Very cute, love the colors. I like the quilting too. I couldn't figure out an easy quilting pattern so I gave mine to the long arm quilter.
Like everyone has said that is just too cute. I also love the colors and the fabric design. Do you remember the designer? Is the fabric from one collection? Is the pattern name Mommy and me? I love elephants and would love to make one like this. Thanks for sharing. BrendaK

Ditto BrendaK! I want to make one too!
I was going to say all the things that BrendaK said. I also love this pattern but am more interested in the fabric line!

Most of the fabric is Moda Sunday Supper by Sweetwater. The pattern is called Mommy and Me. I've included a picture of the pattern.

You have made some really cute quilts with this pattern! I think it is great that you are making more than one, the patterns are pricey and I am guilty of having a few that haven't even been used once :o
Very good choice on colors. You did a great job!
very cute!!!!
Oh! I am guilty of having quite a few patterns that have never been used, too. But when I make one and really like it, I can't help but make more than one. I really do get in a rut. I do the same thing when we go out to eat. If I had something that I really liked before I will keep ordering it until I can't stand it anymore. Must be a character flaw!

Cute quilt! Fun elephants, and a great color combo!
Absolutely adorable! You found your calling!
That is so cute and really, really like the colors of fabrics you used.
Cute mommy and me quilt.
That is super cute! I would also like to know if you hand appliquéd the elephants and balloons or machine appliquéd them on. I did mine by hand. What about the balloon strings? I haven't tackled that yet.
I like how you quilted it! Thanks for sharing! |
I machine appliqued the elephants and balloons. I have tried hand applique and could never get the end product like I wanted it, so now I just machine applique. For the balloon strings I just did used a heavy straight stitch. I think it makes 3 stitches on top of each other.
The pattern is actually very simple. You just use 5 inch squares and width of fabric pieces. The pattern calls for ric rac but I used that on a quilt once and it never looked nice after it was washed, so I just used strips for that part.

Adorable! And love the colors.
That is a cute quilt!
Why not make as many as you want from one pattern? I bet everyone of them is "different" from the others. That is one of the fun/creative/exciting things about making quilts - one can make so many variations using one pattern. |
What a precious quilt, and I love the way you quilted it in just one direction.
Sew cute and I love the colours. I can see why you'd enjoy making it!
