Someone else recently posted a non-traditional baby quilt. I'm with her-- all about non-traditional quilts for little ones. Here are a couple of mine.

OMG, those kids are beyond adorable.
As are the quilts. I'm so sick of perfectly symmetrical pastel colored baby quilts - I just think they lack personality. I love the brightness and boldness of your blocks. That fabric with the squares is giving a sort of plaid feel to the whole thing. Love them. Are those iBabies? ;) |

I'm all for non-traditional. Way back in the dark ages (1968) I used bright colors and prints for my first baby! People thought I was one of those crazy hippies!!

Love the bright colors of your quilts, and I always make sure there are some bright ones in my baby quilts. Bright colors are good for babies to focus on, IMHO.

Thanks everyone (and I'll pass along the admiration of the children to those who conceived them-- the parents are the couple for whom I made the double-wedding ring quilt that is my avatar.)
The pattern, I believe, is a sampler drawn from one of the Fat Quarter books. I'll dig it out tomorrow and give you a more exact title. |
