Pam, are you using the grid like she is or have you just mastered using a 1/4th away from the line? Also, are you using any kind of base unit? I know she said that the one she is using, she designed it herself and it only fits a Gammill. Thanks Debbie

Great looking quilting, Pam!!! You're doing great at learning your machine.

I'm just using a rotary ruler for now, didn't draw a grid, and eyeing the 1/4". Not always right on, which is one reason why I'm doing it on this simple little quilt first. :-)

I ordered the extension table for my machine online yesterday. It's clear plexi with legs to stand on the machine carriage. I believe that there are tables for each type of machine if you do a search on your brand if you're looking for one.

Looks great.

It is so pretty, what a lot of starting and stopping for the cross hatching, simple beautiful colors as well...

Caution on using a regular ruler on the longarm.... I was told to always use a 1/4 " thick ruler.... designed for long arms sew that if the hopping foot hits it won;t break the needle or break itself. Your quilt looks really sharp...... daisy

What a beautiful quilt!

pittsburgpam 03-04-2010 04:35 PM

Yeah, I saw that about not hitting the ruler. I'm careful and I didn't want to wait until I got the LA ruler.

There are only 2 more rows of blocks to do on the quilt.

Love your quilt. Did you use a jelly roll book or did you just go for it?

It's from the book Jelly Roll Quilts by Pam and Nicki Lintot (I think those are the authors).

Thank you. I have one of their books but not that one. Will have to look for it. Thanks for your reply. Rufus2

I have a diamond cross-hatch stencil that I will probably use on the other quilt. It's kind of fun to do.

Beautiful job.

Woo Hoo! It's done. :-D Just cut it off the frame and I think it's cute. Just a simple, old fashioned look that I like.

Haven't decided what to bind it with, either the white or the colors. I believe that I have some of the jelly roll strips left.

hpylady 03-04-2010 10:26 PM

Pam, those colors are so pretty. They are happy, springy looking colors. The quilt is so pretty. I like that old fashioned look too. Beautiful job.

That turned out so beautiful....Can't wait to try one. I think I have that cross hatch and flower figured out now. Thanks for you help.

Absolutely beautiful! If it were my quilt, I'd bind it with white but one of the colors would work fine as well. Thank you for sharing with us.
