That's a backing? Wow! I'd put a plain back on it and call it a quilt! Can we see the top?

Your back looks great. I love scrappy. I agree with others that it should be a top though! I'm sort of a newbie and I really appreciate that you explained how you line up the front and backs. Congrats on a great finish!

Very nice indeed.

Wow That looks great!

If this is the backing, I would use it as the front. Very nice.

fabulous! I love this backing. Scraps are just wonderful. They make miracles! Thanks for sharing.

Love pieced backings!

This would be a beautiful front. If you don't like it, you could make it for a charity, or use it as a "picnic" quilt, or donate to a raffle, etc.
When I clicked on this, I thought I would find an example of what I usually do for a back. I use all the scraps leftover from the front, including fabric I bought for it that ended up not being in it. But, I just sew them in the biggest blocks or rows that I can. |
Thank you all for the overwhelming amount of encouragement, compliments, and suggestions offered so generously. I am truly touched. :)

I can then flip it over and use the basting as guidelines to position the backing side and do a proper basting thru all three layers. It only takes about an extra hour or so, but is totally worth it to get both sides lined up properly.
