another scrappy- completely out of my stash top done
2 Attachment(s)
i've been looking at this quilt pattern for years- finally decided i could probably do it out of my stash- got out my tote of batik scraps- and started sorting- then instead of a cream batik the pattern called for i figured i probably had enough white on white scraps to use for backgrounds-
once i had the fabrics sorted i started cutting it all out- then a day of piecing 4-patches & half=square triangle blocks a couple days (building the blocks) and on sunday managed to put it all together- going together on the diagonal was an (adventure!) i managed to get the top half together to the center- then on the bottom half---kept doing things...upside down & backwards (mirrored) seam ripper had a work out! but once i (finally) got my mind around what i was doing it came together...i am pretty happy with it. |
From the looks of your scraps, I would have a field day in your stash! Lovely Quilt CK!

Beautiful scrap quilt!!!
|
A lovely scrappy!! What fun to tinker in your scraps, and create this beauty! :)
|
that is amazing. congrats!
|
Awesome colors in your quilt! My scraps seem a bit dreary in comparison! Great quilt!!
|
OMG...that is gorgeous!!! This may sound stupid but...your quilt is exactly what I think of when I think of a quilt. :) Lots of bright colors using your own imagination of what you want it to look like. When I look at this old quilt that my husband's grandmother made...it's a lot of scraps of the whole families clothing that she just put together. And me... I sit down and write lists of fabrics to look JUST LIKE whats shown in the patterns. I need to try and be more creative. LOL
