I made this last year with the intention of hand quilting it but by the time I was through piecing it I was tired of it. I am thinking about sending it out to be machine quilted. I hope these pictures come out.

k3n 04-22-2010 11:22 PM

Beautiful! I'm at the fabric collection stage for this pattern - from the Judy Martin book, right? I love your fabric choices - really bright and beautiful. And I entirely agree with having it machine quilted - I for one wouldn't want to hand quilt through all those seams!

barnbum 04-23-2010 03:56 AM

Yup--you deserve a Long Arm quilter!! Nice work!

marquezluz 04-23-2010 05:13 AM

I love you Snake River!!!! I made a queen size one too. It's amazing how we used the same pattern but the quilts looks so different. I was going to hand quilt mine too, but was so tired of it. I actually just stitched in the ditch for the quilting. How long did it take you to make? It took me five months to piece my top. If you go to Judy MArtin's website and email her a picture of your quilt she will posted it on her website. Go to photo then click on viewer photos. You can see how many different color schemes people used.

thimblebug6000 04-23-2010 05:39 AM

That's alot of seams to hand quilt! Gorgeous quilt by the way.

Gma Cindy 04-23-2010 05:51 AM

I do piecing for an Amish lady and I am working on this pattern for her in blue. It is a beautiful quilt but I will be glad when it is done....There is a bazillion pieces to this quilt!!

Wine Woman 04-23-2010 06:00 AM

Beautiful! That's a lot of pieces! You should be very proud.

MamaBear61 04-23-2010 06:47 AM

Lovely

weezie 04-23-2010 06:56 AM

I can't imagine how you could get tired of it ... after all, there's only about 10 billion little pieces of fabric sewn together.

gaga grandma 04-23-2010 07:05 AM

LOVELY!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sparky 04-23-2010 07:19 AM

Your quilt is beautiful but I understand what you say about getting tired of it after all those hours of work on it. After you put it away for awhile your sense of appreciation for it will return. Before you give it to a long arm quilter make sure you are comfortable with the differences in effect between hand quilting and long arm quilting, they are different and I don't want you to be disappointed after all your hard work.

Ditter43 04-23-2010 07:22 AM

That is beautiful....what a great top!!! Can't wait to see it quilted!!
