The bins never seem to get any less full! Started with 9" foundation and put light on one side, darker on the other. Just laying the 8-1/2" square along the diving line between light and dark and trimming made a perfect square.

Bins, I just had a few of the flat project boxes with scraps,and made a lot of projects. Your quilt is beautiful.

I've made several string quilts and have really liked how they came out. Yours shows how you don't have to pick a color for the central string (like red, black, or white solid). I did one with pink on one side and purple on the other as well. Thank you for sharing your idea of lights and darks. I'm going to have to make one like yours now! Such a quick and easy way to use up our never ending bins of scraps!!!

Came out great! I need to make some of these to knock my scraps down. I feel the same though that the more you use of scraps the more you have. It is never ending with them. That's ok though because if we have scraps we always have something to sew that is fun.
