Just had to post a picture of my newest top. Just have to add borders tomorrow and it will go to be quilted. Using a plain flannel back as requested by my friend. Not usually the type of quilt I would make but it was so fun to do and fast because I used a library book that I could not renew. Someone had reserved it. LOL Sure does give you extra ambition. Hope you like it. The size with borders is 80 X 102. Now I am off to the library to return the book.

This caught my eye immediately. I love this type of quilt - even in a smaller size in an entry way. Do you remember the book it came from?

I made a smaller version of this quilt years ago - and I'm thinking it was from a Thimbleberries book...am I correct? I recall it was really fun to make. Yours is awesome!

marsye 03-30-2010 06:18 PM

  awesome!

bailey 03-30-2010 06:22 PM

Thanks everyone. The book is called "Big Book of Quilt Blocks" by Lynette Jensen. Thimbleberries Village is the name of the quilt. It was a lot of fun to do and I used up a lot of pieces of fabric that I had - didn't have to buy any fabric at all. That is always a bonus.

I like that one as well and could see me making one like it. I really want to do a houses quilt in a big way! It's on my extremely long wishful to do list which I haven't been able to whittle away on at all lately... soon enough. My day will come when I can get to sew again!

OH NO!!! Big mistake in this top. Noticed when I went to add the borders. Can you find it. The red and white blocks beside the house on the left. It is UPSIDE DOWN......Deciding if I should fix it or pretend I didn't notice. Would you fix it or live with it?

Those who did notice - you were kind enough not to mention it but now you can..........

belmer 03-31-2010 08:43 AM

Wonderful job, I love these kind of quilts.

I would fix it, if you noticed the mistake it will bug you, do before you have it quilted. I didn't notice it but, person getting it will eventually notice it and be disappointed. It is gorgeous and I have several books of Thimbleberries books, I don't have this one but, 5-6 others. She likes to do the houses, among others.
