This was done by a sweet little older lady. The piecing wasn't perfect but she did a fantastic job anyway. I had some fullness in it that I was afraid if I overquilted it, it would create folds. She absolutely loved it!!!

You do lovely work. Beautiful quilting on a beautiful quilt.

mpspeedy 05-19-2010 10:56 AM

Her work and yours are outstanding.

Wow! Are you saying you made the quilt top and she stitched the sandwich? Your work is awesome. Just awesome. The stitching looks like it should be on a wedding dress. It is magnificent. How'd she do that? Did she hand stitch it? If this quilt were in the same house with me I would get nothing done because I would be looking at the intricate detail in this quilt. Wow!
(sweet little 'older') lady. How much is older? My daughter's great great grandmother was 107 this year. yep.

you did a beautiful job quilting. and was a nice job on the quilt. i wish you lived close to me. my quilter i have used a couple times, just follows the pantagram across. not real artistic. but i think that was what you call a custom quilting job, wasn't it?

gaigai 05-19-2010 11:40 AM

I did the machine quilting, the customer (approx. age 70's) pieced the top. The applique is done by hand.

Nice work on both the piecing and the quilting.

This was done by a sweet little older lady.
I have a feeling that I could be included in this category. The sweet part doesn't sound so bad but I hate admit to the older part. :)

Oh so beautiful!!!

I have just become interested in longarm quilting. Would you mind sharing with me how you get such beautiful results (besides being incredible talented). Do you only free hand the designs or sometimes use regular quilting templates to provide a rough outline to follow..do you use the plexiglass templates that you can buy that you use to guide your foot? Sorry so many questions, but thanks for any info you care to share.

sewjoyce 05-19-2010 03:50 PM

[quote=nursie76]Oh so beautiful!!!

I have just become interested in longarm quilting.

I used templates to do my curves in the sashings. The rest is all freehand. Many years of practice and I doodle all the time.

nursie76 05-19-2010 06:13 PM

Thanks for the info!
