Thanks eveyone. These little beach huts are fairly typical in England - Sue, I see you're 'near Camelot' - I'm guessing that's a couple of counties west of me?

We have nothing like the beach cottage on this side of the Atlantic. I live of the coast of South Carolina USA.

These are little huts, no more than 3 or 4 yards square. Ppl sometimes keep a small boat in them, or surfboards, or even just use them to change in. You can rent them by the year for not too much. My Aunt and Uncle had one on our local beach when I was growing up (further east round the coast at Calshot) I remember the distinctive smell when you opened the door - salt and sand combined with damp towels and the faint gassy residue from the camping stove. - Like perfume to me!

well you sure did a good job.
what are the huts for, why are they so close who owns them and why are they built that way, they kinda look crooked?
that should satisfy me for now! LOL
