Autumn love

When my daughter moved back home, she asked me if we could do a make over of her bedroom. Since I have never made a quilt for her bed here in the US, we decided to make one but with a twist on a traditional style quilt. She loves rustic quilts and autumn colors so we chose a pattern from the American Patchwork & Quilting magazine October 2014 issue. She instantly fell in love with this pattern and she picked the colors that were suitable for her room. So I started working on a queen size bed quilt right away. I was able to make 432 diamonds 1 1/2" long. I also used poly -fil extra loft batting. When I finished the bed, I also did the curtains. I used a silk fabric that I already had and I quilted the side holders of the curtains. So now after about a month of hard work, I'm posting a before and after picture of the room. Thank you for looking

Beautiful. Love how much more inviting the room is now. But I am also very partial to that color palette.

What a wonderful welcome home.
Wow, your work is so beautiful! I love Hunter's Star but it intimidates the heck out of me. Yours is amazing, as is the whole room makeover.
Stunning work!
Love the whole room, especially the closeups of your quilting. Nice idea of the 60 degree triangles on the borders. Also love how you added the hunter star block at each corner. Great ideas. Thinking of making this quilt for someone wanting red and white checkerboard theme. Couldn't find anything that gives off the checkerboard but this pattern is a good substitute in my book. Love, love, love your color layout.

Amazing quilt. You id a lovely job piecing and quilting this treasure! The room looks so inviting.
I love the quilt design and fabric colors. Your are spoiling your DD. :)
Your quilting designs show up well using the poly-fil extra loft batting. Who makes this batting? I just purchased Hobbys Poly-down batting for extra loft. |
beautiful transition... stunning quilt. I love the pattern, your selection of fabric colors (they pick up colors from the headboard and the border has similar colors in the rug) and your quilting is awesome. I'm sure your daughter loves her new room.
