Autumn Stroll (McKenna Ryan) Quilt is finished!

I made this quilt as a thank you gift for a friend of mine. I had the pattern enlarged to 200% as my friend wanted to use it as a wall hanging for a large space. Most of the fabrics are Hoffman batiks, as suggested in the pattern.

I did the raw edge appliqué portions while I was in France taking care of my mother. When I came home I finished assembling it, and free motion quilted it.

The quilt went to its new home yesterday and my friend is thrilled with it. I was happy to make it for her!

How cute is that???? I love McKenna Ryan patterns-your quilting really makes it! I am really wanting to get her set of "Home Tweet Home" bird house patterns-Keepsake Quilting has them, but I don't have the spare $85.00!!

Hi Yetta, thank you for your kind words. I use a Janome Horizon 7700. I use it for piecing, and for FMQ, as it has an 11" throat.

Thank you Sandy. Actually I found the raw edge applique part of the process fairly easy! Maybe it was easier on this one because I had the pattern enlarged so the pieces were not as tiny, most of them at least!

nickylsf 02-27-2012 07:54 AM

Thank you all for your kind words. Everyone here is always so kind and encouraging.
