I'm debating on a red flowered border or a green border for this one. It's from Thimbleberries, called "Pine & Rose Throw". I had knee surgery done on Nov 3rd and have been piecing this one together in my recovery (still unable to stand on my leg). DH set up a "sewing, ironing, cutting" station in my sewing room so I could at least sew, but it's a bit hard to move around, especially when the quilts get bigger. I'm thrilled to have at least finished it this far, what do you think???

Very nice. The flowered border sounds like it would look good. I would have to audtion it to be sure.

RkayD 11-22-2010 05:04 PM

Lovely! Hope you have a speedy recovery. =)

It's beautiful. I'm glad you've been able to sew in spite of your physical limitations. May your recovery be as sucessful as your stitching.

Beautiful, what a project while you are laid up. Nice job.

hobo2000 11-22-2010 05:08 PM

It is a beauty. I really like it. I, too, would like to see the flowered fabric. Looking at it I think a narrow red and a wider dark green would look nice.

DebraK 11-22-2010 05:12 PM

beautiful work

I like your idea, thank you. I'll post again after it's complete. I'll have to buy a bit more green for it tho.

Me too! Congratulations for being able to sew at all!

This goes for me too. BTW, I had both knees replaced Sept 1. I am sewing once a week with a friend. I can walk and stand for a little while, but getting up from a chair is a killer! Still, I am happy I had the surgery as other than the getting-up bit, I am ever so much better than before. Wishing you the best in your recovery.

Lynneander 11-22-2010 05:37 PM

Beautiful! Hope you are doing a little better each day.

candi 11-22-2010 05:37 PM

magpie 11-22-2010 06:00 PM

Hope your recovery continues to improve. I just got sceduled for Dec. 27th for left knee. Hope I can do as well as you. Love the quilt and the colors especially.

I love the quilt! It's a real beauty.
By red flower border, do you mean the red flowered fabric that is in the quilt, or some other fabric? I like the idea of the red flowered border either way. :D :D

littlehud 11-22-2010 06:57 PM

Not sure what you should do about the borders, but your blocks are beautiful and your piecing is great.

franie 11-22-2010 07:48 PM

I love it. Very pretty. Would love to see an audtion of the border fabric though. Glad you are recovering but I know what it is like to not be able to sew and stand to sew on my Lizzie or even to cut--frustrating isn't it. It will soon be over. Glad you are recovering and improcing.

mhcpa 11-22-2010 07:53 PM

This is gorgeous. I have seen this pattern and want to make one. You have inspired me to move forward. Thanks.

irishrose 11-23-2010 09:19 AM

The quilt is beautiful. How about a narrow green frame, then a wide red flowered border? The binding could be either color. I'd like to see more red.

Iluv2quilt 11-23-2010 09:25 AM

Thank you all for your kind words! I was just grateful to have something to sew. Now I think I'll make a few small table runners or something to break up the larger quilts, then on to using my batik fabric.

Lovely
I agree adding a tiny boarder of red & green will really add to bringing the center out

Friendly Quilter 11-23-2010 09:49 AM
