This is all going to be sooo cute. But I am sure that Scarlett's mom knows that bumper pads are a "NO NO". They are not recommended due to "sudden infant death" syndrome. (Not trying to put a damper on your project,,,just want to keep that baby safe.). MY daughter just HAD TO buy the whole set of bedding and has never touched the bumper pads. They were put on originally just to show off the room for the new coming arrival,,,but then stuffed in the closet. SO that will be less sewing for you... AWESOME JOB!

that is gonna be sooooo awesome. can't wait to see more

yes please show us the finished room can not wait to see the great quilts and accessories.

That is gorgeous baby girl bedding. You have a lot of patience to do this.

Ok got the pillow done, though I took photos before I sewed the final side closed (ran out of thread and had to go get more) but I wanted to send her photos before it was too dark outside to get something decent. Still have to cut loose threads, etc. but y'all get the picture!
Front: Up close of monogram: Back (minky). I fused the minky to a stabilizing fabric then quilted stripes about 1 1/2 inches apart to help keep it from shifting while I sew. Worked beautifully! |
All I can say is, Wow what a beautiful gift!
Today I will hopefully get the quilt front done and maybe at least part of the bumper pads.

Well, I didn't forget about this thread but with hubby's surgery, then my issues, and life in general, I didn't touch my sewing machine for about 7 weeks. Today I did the quilt top for this bedding so I though I would update and share...and yes, she's already had the baby, Scarlette Rose is her name. Here is the quilt top. Now I just have to decide how to quilt it, then do the bumper pads and the set will be done. My back hurts if I sew too long so I had to take a break anyway :D

I'm torn on how I should quilt this. Suggestions?
not to busy at all....i love it
Lovely! I'm so glad you chose to do the ruffle in stripes instead of the other way around as done in the picture -- its much more effective this way. Minky is not fun to sew, and you'll have fuzz all over the place, but its nice for baby bedding, its so soft. Can't wait to see your finished pieces! What a nice friend you are to do this for her....its a lot of work.
I love it!!! I can't wait to see it all finished. You are doing wonderful and the colors are so bright and cheerful.
Looks adorable! How fun!! :)
