Baby Quilt - I don't do pink or pastel ... or do I?
 

Since I took up quilting, seems like all the babies in the family have been boys. But finally, a girl. However, I don't really care much for pink ... or pastels ... I like to do bright quilts with lots of contrast. But I did have some "girly" fabric I had found at Jo-ann's a while back that I actually liked. So, I challenged myself to do a more subdued baby quilt with it. What do you think? The border and the backing are the Jo-ann's fabric -- the backing is flannel.

I FMQ'ed the baptist fan pattern; kind of boring to do, but it went quickly.

I really like this little quilt. Is this your pattern or does it have a name? That would be good for either boy or girl, just change the colors

I saw a picture of a quilt with these pinwheels, and made my own version. The pinwheels are just HSTs. Each large pinwheel is made of 16 HSTs.

I too love this block if you are willing to share will you give us the name or give directions on tutorials?
It is a great baby quilt very nice and not so cutesy as most are.

That's a wonderful quilt. Most Moms prefer a quilt like this. Nursery pastels have fallen out of vogue a bit.

Love the colors! My grandma always hand quilted her quilts with the "Baptist Fan" design. Is it hard to do on the machine? I have a quilt I would like to use that quilt design on but don't know how to start.

I used those instructions, except that I only used lines 1 inch apart (every other slot on the circular ruler)

It's beautiful and I like that kind of baby quilt. I don't care for pastels. The brighter the better. My kids always liked the brighter quilts when they were young anyways. Well, now they still like bright wild fabrics. :)
