Our God is faithful, cast all your cares on Him. He will sustain you and your family. Your quilt is darling, may the quilt, and the love that went into making it, be a blessing to mother and child for years to come.

I used "State Fair" pattern, which is a Schnibbles pattern by Miss Rosie's Quilt Co. to make the basic pinwheel, and then just adapted it to my own design. It was Leslie's idea to do the off-white squares in pinwheels (I was just going to use plain off-white squares), and I think that really adds something. Now, to start the window valence (it will be made of off-white ultrasuede, with the same polka dot border, various coloured tabs at the top, and 5 pinwheels which I'm going to applique on at various places on the off-white ultrasuede.) Sure hope it works out!

Leslie helped me plan the decor, but she's not seeing the finished products until the shower in September. C9P

Prayers are on their way for your grandchild and daughter.

I had no trouble whatsoever. I spray-basted the layers (I will definitely wash it before using it with our grandchild), and it just quilted like a dream, using my Janome 6600. I was very pleased with the result, and so glad I didn't have a long arm quilter do it. I think with the dimpled minkee, having "less" quilting, rather than "more" was the right decision. C9P

I love the minkee backing on the baby quilt. Do you have any tips for keeping minkee from stretching as you quilt??? I plan to use a plush blanket for backing. I wondered if using tissue paper pinned to the back of the plush fabric would allow me to keep the fuzzies out of the feed dogs and keep the material from stretching as its quilted. thanks so much!
