Baby quilts ready to be mailed

The chevron quilt is being shipped to California for a baby shower and the Arithmetic quilt is for my DGS who is now 8 months. My DIL asked for the colors to go with his bedroom.

I want to thank granny64 and sewstephanie for advice on my first Cuddle/minky project. I decided not to use batting since my kids are in Key West and I actually like the drape of the blanket.

They are both very nice...the chevron one really is jazzy!

Ariannaquilts 02-10-2018 07:40 AM

How darling they are. My fav is the primary colored chevron. How fun!

Mariposa 02-10-2018 08:37 AM

Both quilts are terrific! Well done! :)

thimblebug6000 02-10-2018 08:46 AM

Both quilts so cute! I have made a chevron but it used rectangles, not the squares like your pattern... oh oh... need to go searching :D

These are BEAUTIFUL! Have you found the best (most reasonably priced) method of sending; USPS, FedX, UPS? I made two doll diapers out of scrapes for dgd in MO and found that it would cost $3.50 to send from NE! I'm sure that I'm just behind the times, but just thought that was a lot for some scrape-made items. Can anyone give me an example of your experience of sending a baby quilt with regular, warm and natural batting? I have one to send to KS and trying to figure best method of sending. Thank you all so much!

Love the chevron quilt....is there a pattern for this.

sandilee 02-10-2018 12:33 PM

Love them both. Like the backing on the chevron. I just finished a chevron and it was fun to make. Thinking of doing another one.

I love them!

copycat 02-11-2018 03:55 AM

I like the happy, scrappy, look of your chevron quilt! Please share the pattern name if you have one. Your backing fabric is as cute as can be also!

The minky backing on your DGS's quilt looks so cuddly! Did you enjoy quilting with a minky back?

Thank you for sharing 2 pretty quilts with us!

the name of the pattern is Frolic by CluckCluckSew. I used 2 1/2" strips but it is charm pack friendly as well.

jmoore 02-11-2018 07:28 AM

Yes Copycat, the Cuddle fabric was easier to handle than I expected... I won't be hesitant to try it again.

Painiacs 02-11-2018 07:32 AM

zozee 02-11-2018 10:19 AM

Aren't baby quilts the "funnest" to make? Especially when they are going to your

babies!

sJens 02-11-2018 01:04 PM

Love both of your quilts.

Linda1 02-12-2018 08:11 AM

They are beautiful. I especially like the chevron.

ekuw 02-12-2018 11:53 AM

I like the colors on both and that they are gender neutral. Seems like modern moms tend to lean that way :-)
