Why would it grind you? They are saying exactly what you are... They turn one block wrong or use a miss-matched colors in a block, to honor God as the only perfect being. It is to remind them that neither themselves nor their quilts are perfect.

I have done that. My brother has been admiring a flag quilt I have for years. I decided to make him one for his birthday.I finished it and gave it to him for his birthday. He sent me a picture of it hanging on his wall. It was a tiny picture on a flip phone. As soon as I opened the picture I said a bad word as I saw the mistake. One of the red and white rows was inserted upside down. Not taking it apart to fix it.

That mistake in ( your opinion) doesn't take away the love that went into making it...plus it is unique now...just like the babies..

The mother is happy, let it go.

Great quilts! You could gift the "wrong" quilt to the little girl born first and label it "Make way. Coming through!"

Those twins obviously have a wonderful Mom and lovely quilts - I agree the story only makes them sweeter.

I would leave it, no one will mind and many won't even notice...nice gift for the twins....

I have read that the remark that Amish make a mistake in each quilt is not correct. Someone might want to google that. I agree with the person who says--just fix it. I would turn the quilt so that the "mistake" is on the bottom and then embroider the baby's name (& vital's) in the space between the triangles - or find a suitable animal in a coloring book -like an elephant with its trunk up, make an appliqué out of it and put that in the space. You could do the same in the center of the other blanket.
