I patch layout errors. Just applique the wrong pieces with correct pieces. It doesn't even show.

As I scrolled thru the picture of both quilts, then saw the mistake in the second one, my first thought was - that one is giving the baby a hug! I looked again after reading some comments, and it still looks like a hug to me!!

I would have to fix it, because if it were me it would drive me batty. It's really up to you. By the way, I think they are lovely quilts and you are an absolute star to keep so busy with giving to your co-workers. Quilts are very special gifts.

Years ago I did the same type of thing; I did not fix it and I use it at Christmas time, error and all.

Both quilts look very nice! Don't change anything.

Bummer. Can you think of an applique that will hide the mistakes....something like a group of flowers???

This sounds like a great idea! A whole group of flowers. It will be the favorite quilt!

I think they are wonderful quilts. Just give the quilts to mom. You did not make a mistake, You "designed it that way."
I always say "I design it that way" when i make mistakes. No one know for sure or not. You did a wonderful job.

I think I'd leave it as is. Truthfully, although I'm a little bummed out today, and almost didn't notice! None of us are perfect -- the only perfect man to walk the face of this earth was Jesus Christ and he was nailed to a tree. We can only strive for excellence -- not perfection! Jeanette

The "mistake block" the Amish people put in their quilts is a manifestation of their belief that neither they nor anyone else is perfect; therefore, nothing we "make" is perfect. It is simply a demonstration to others that we can strive for excellence, but will never reach perfection. Whatever you decide to do will be fine, because our quilts are not made with perfection, they're made with love!

Nah, don't take it apart...it is special to the Mom because you made it...I made a mini pinwheel for our camper, never notice til I hung it on the wall, one of my pinwheel blades is turned the wrong way.
