My version of a sweat shirt jacket. the pink is for my 6 y/o grand daughter * Brooklynn* and the lavender jacket is for my 80 y/o mom. Both done in each of their favorite colors!
Zipster the inspector is doing a finial quality control inspection before it got wrapped up and shipped off....... he is so through!@!! |
Pretty - thanks for sharing!

Did you use a pattern- or design them yourself ? I have this on my someday list :)

Very pretty, and different.
|
Did you sew on top of purchased sweatshirts or did you also make up the gray lining?
They are very nice. |
beautiful!!! I keep planning to make a jacket with a 'disciplined' pattern but always fall astray and end up doing random swatches and using quilting stitches on my D1 and variegated thread~!!! Your jackets just may have inspired me to try again to stay focused!!!
|
Great job. If Mom's hair is while she should look stunning in the Lavender.
The pink is adorable. I bet it is her favorite color. Thanks for sharing. |

Like them both. Does the kitty come with the second one? or was he just inspecting the stitches.
|
Both jackets are wonderful and the Inspectors appears to be taking his job quite seriously.
|
OMG! Those are absolutely charming!! Who wouldn't love them ... I did a sweatshirt jacket for Mom & have been intending to do one for me ... maybe now after seeing your gorgeous masterpieces, I'll get motivated! Thanks for sharing! I especially like your Quality Control Inspector!
|
Lovely jacket. That quilt inspector did a thorough job at checking for anything amiss. Great job (smile). Thanks for sharing.
|
WOW both are just beautiful, great job
Have a Blessed night Ellen |
Thanks everyone....
A special shout goes to : *Quilt Addict*.... I used a sweatshirt... I flipped it and sewed on the inside, making the outside of the sweat shirt the lineing side ( the soft inside sometimes sheds and I didnt want that... but it is much softer) *vwquilting*.... Moms hair is a dark red with some salt mixed in.... lavender has just always been her fav... I hope she dont notice many of these fabrics are scraps leftover from her gift last year... a square yoyo quilt done in all lavenders and purples. As for pink being the 6 y/o's favorite color... shes 6 so of course it is her favorite!!! LOL *traveler53*.... I wish the "inspector" went with the jacket.. thats where I got him from!! I got suckered my my mom and my GD...... The Quality Control Inspector really does a good job tho... I have to give him that.. if there is a straw thread that missed gettign clipped he will find it... he LOVES thread. LOL |
I really like both of them!!
judy |

|
very nice, Zipster inspects very closely

Wow both off them are so very beautiful.
|
I wish I had a daughter who would make me a jacket like that especially with that touch of grey on it!!
|
Those jackets are so pretty .....love both styles. I made me a SS jacket using a Jelly Roll, very cute but when i had to wash it then I dried it which I shouldn't have so I gave it to my daughter.....thinking of making another one but in brown tones with prewashed fabrics.......they are really warm for winter. I also have a green one in crazy patch style.
Have received lots of compliments on them both....... |

Have received lots of compliments on them both....... I've been wanting one for myself for a while, but I hate wearing jackets so much... I just haven't.. I figured this was a good time to make one... it really was much easier than I thought it would be.... YEA! |
Absolutely beautiful!
