Very pretty!!!

That pattern is also in the book that I made my spiral circle from. It is the sprial circle with one seam open to make the skirt nad then you put on a lace or a ruffle or prairie points like I did with the tree skirt that I made. The book is Quilts Without Corners and the pattern is designed by Cheryle Phillips. Very pretty, I bet it would look nice under a silver tree or a white one. Oh yes,, You need a 9 or a 10 degree ruler also. 25" long. Huggies, Fay

That is the first thing I am going to make when I get that ruler. It may be a while cause I don't see purchasing a ruler in the near future with the holidays coming and all. Yours is gorgeous.

nhlady52 10-15-2010 02:53 AM

Beautiful. Where do you get a 9* wedge ruler?
Would love to try this but am fairly new. How hard
is it?

MaryAnna 10-15-2010 02:57 AM

How adorable! I've got that pattern somewhere...just need to find it and get going myself! Yours is just wonderful!
Blessings,
MaryAnna

ebay is the only place that I was able to find one. There are 2 types, one is shorter (14 inches) the other longer (24?). You'll need the longer one. They cost $26.95 on ebay.http://cgi.ebay.com/ORIGINAL-9-Degre...item483c73f466
This is the one you need, you might want to run a 'search' on ebay and perhaps there's someone listing one cheaper.
Kind Regards,
MaryAnna

Very pretty! I really want that wedge ruler!! I keep saying I'm going to get one, then I look on Ebay and find nothing but full priced ones then I stop looking again....

I need to just bite the bullet and get one one of these days!

katyquilter 10-15-2010 04:42 AM

that is awesome.

Lisa_wanna_b_quilter 10-15-2010 05:15 AM

Very pretty. It really seems to be swirling.

mamaw 10-15-2010 05:15 AM

Everyone has their own taste! I know a gal with a purple Christmas tree..she loves purple so much that her hubby bought this tree for her to have each year. You did a great job on the skirt!

newestnana 10-15-2010 05:45 AM

Ohhhhh it's beautiful! Love the non-traditional Christmas colors!

I just (yesterday) finished the same quilt, using red, green, white, gold. I quilted it using gold metallic thread. I will take pictures and post them.

Didn't you find it used a LOT of fabric (especially with the ruffle, which is very full), so it ended up being a pretty expensive tree skirt?

It is really easy! YOu won't have any problems as a new quilter.

Well it does cause you need almost 6 yards of fabric. There is alot of wast when you cut your wedges is why. I saved all of mine and I am going to make a table toper or something..I figured why waste them Thay don't have to make a pattern ort line up if it is just a scrappy right?

greencat 10-15-2010 07:58 AM

Very pretty!

Murphy 10-15-2010 08:07 AM

Mariposa 10-15-2010 09:10 AM

Iluv2quilt 10-15-2010 09:34 AM

Beautiful! I also use purple and silver on my tree. This would be beautiful under ours as well. Nice work!

I made one of these....not a Xmas skirt, I closed it up. I did make a Xmas skirt for a friend of mine who got married and it was their first Xmas together. I still love the pattern.

wvdek 10-15-2010 06:04 PM

Wow, what unusual Christmas colors.

Great topper.

littlehud 10-15-2010 07:19 PM

reach for the stars 2 10-16-2010 04:14 AM

I love it. It will look great under her tree

JMZquilts 10-16-2010 05:03 AM

Beautiful job! Could also be used as a table topper for an umbrella table. Any ideas of how to minimize fading other than putting up the umbrella? Joan in Champaign,IL
