I think the barn quilts are so neat.
I've seen some as I drive in Iowa, but this is the prettiest one I have seen
Fabulous find on your travels! thanks for taking the time to show it to us.
Osceola County in central MI has a brochure at the rest stops showing locations in the area of the barn quilts.
This just makes me smile. Love it.
How pretty to see while driving!
Nice!
Someday I hope to see a real barn quilt! That one is beautiful!
The Amana Colonies in Iowa have a free brochure that has a map to show where all the barn quilts are. It is a very pretty drive. We are just getting started on barn quilts here in Missouri. Guess you would have to say we're a little slow.LOL

Haven't seen any in Washington yet~ |
This one is beautiful, thanks for sharing!
I have seen a couple in Washington, but can't remember where they are, except the Buggy Barn has one of course! I want to put one on my house but DH thinks I am crazy. Has anyone seen one on a house anywhere? |
That is so pretty. I love barn quilts. We have a few here.
I would love to paint one on my garage!! thought about it but doubt my neighbors would like it.
For Nikkilu,
Your Avartar, is so cute !!! just wanted to say that forever, |
I love barn quilts. I want to paint one on my kitchen wall. Still working it out in my head.
Crabbypatty- love the avatar

Someone told me that when you see a quilt design on a barn
and then other ones along the way, it is called the quilt trail. I think it is marvelous that the quilt work we do is showcased along our highways. Dude |
Love it. I'd like one on the side of my house.

I live in Owensboro (Daviess County), Kentucky. Our local quilters with the Daviess County Extension Office started working on Barn Quilts last August and have well over 30 up already with contracts for another 10 or 12 to be finished soon. They have a Facebook page; Daviess County Barn Quilts where you can see pictures of them all. Kentucky has a large collection of Barn quilts in many of its counties. You can go to the Kentucky Arts Council's website and find maps for them all or just google Barn Quilts in your state to see if there are any there.
My husband and I love to take trips just to look for them and photograph them. I was in Shipshewana area last week, where the local quilt shop owner told me they were going to start working on getting a Barn Quilt trail going in that area too. Don't they just make you smile??? |
I liked them so well I made one to put on our barn.
Its a 24x24. I cant remember the name of the quilt. I want to make another for a shed this year, when it quits raining here.( oregon). :( The only people to see it are our two neighbors. We live on a private drive with two neighbors behind us. Have a good day. Roma |
Don't you just love em? I would love to have a map of barn quilts and take a road trip. Doesn't that sound like a kick?
I love the barn quilts too and have thought about painting one for our garage.
I think these are wonderful and I thank everyone who has a barn and takes the time to do this! Thanks for the pic.

I live on the Old Mission Peninsula and we have about 12 Barn quilts. Haven't found all of them yet. Still trying. The Traverse City Chamber put out a brochure and their locations.
makes me wont to visit your wonderful country again.
I love looking for them and have my Brother and SIL (who drive from Pennsylvania to Lexington, Ky alot) on the lookout. They send me cell phone pics when they find them.
That's just a great pic anyway. I love taking pics of old barns. That pic there would make a great quilt!
You can do just that. I don't know about other states, but Kentucky does have the maps available. Google Kentucky Barn Quilts and it will take you to a site where the maps are available. Hubs and I do it often!!
Wondering if other states might not have maps too. Try googling them as well. Good Luck! |
Awesome - I just love barn quilts! Thanks for sharing!
There are hundreds of barn quilts in the eastern part of Kentucky; especially! They should be able to find many of them. Tell them to google Kentucky Barn quilts for maps of their locations.
I love seeing barn quilts. One day my husband and I went on a barn quilt tour and it took us on some roads we didn't know existed.
Oh, I bet you have a bunch in Ohio. That's where they originated.
who cares if they don't like it, that means that they can't be as creative as you.... GO FOR IT!!!!!!!!!!
I have heard of the barn quilts, and I have seen pics of barn quilts, but have yet to see on in person. No such thing yet up here !!! I may have to make a trip down north to see one in person. Very lovely picture, thanks for posting. Auntie B from Saskatchewan, Canada.
