Batik 'Monet' Purse
2 Attachment(s)
I found a couple of great looking batik fat quarters at Walmart that reminded me of a Monet painting and had some Moda fabric in stash that I thought went well with it and made the purse below. I devised the pattern myself as this is the type of purse I prefer to carry (and cut the pattern out of some thin flexible packing wrap, don't know what it's called but it's sturdy enough to use many times without tears). Thanks for viewing :).

That is really pretty and it does look like Monet painting with that fabric.
BEAUTIFUL!!!!!! love the soft aqua colors and cute little pockets
Love your Monet! How about a tutorial? Your purse looks simple and easily accessible which are some things that are very important to me. I do not like fiddling with all sorts of pockets, etc. as I easily forget where I put what.
You have picked beautifully soft colors. Just wanted to add I love how you made your handles two toned. |
Gorgeous bag.

Such a soft interesting and pleasing looking bag!
It's a lovely bag, both color and style.
A very beautiful bag. Loved the curved stitching on the top flap.
Oh that is just sooo pretty. What did you use in the bottom of your bag for stiffness? Really nice fabric choices. Yes I would like a tute also.
wow ~ I love this.. what pattern is it?
The fabric is gorgeous and I love the purse that you made. Really nice.
What a beautiful bag! I love the name, too.
beautiful colors and a nice bag - looks perfect!
That is one beautiful bag! How about a tutorial?
Great bag!
Very pretty and I like your pattern.
Thanks everybody! I'll see if I can put together a tutorial on making one. Oh, I didn't use anything on the bottom, the fabric, high loft batting, muslin and quilting were enough to make it sturdy and not floppy but something stiff could be used between it and the lining, it just never occurred to me when plotting it out.
Nice Monet purse.
Your purse is wonderful! I have been looking for a new purse for a few months now and haven't found one that is satisfactory. This one looks to be the size I need. I hope you do write a tute for it. Very cute!
I like it! That looks like an excellent design and I love the fabric.
Love the fabric and the purse!!!
I usually put one or two layers of plastic canvas in the bottom. It just makes it sit better and holds shape a little more. I make a sleeve to slide the canvas in then set it in the bottom of the bag. It is removable and it can be washed with the bag.
Love it. Ditto on the tutorial. Great colors. BrendaK
Outstanding purse. My favorite type bag too.

Great bag! And just my style. I'll be waiting for a tutorial, also.
Love it! Yes, please, on the tutorial. :)

This really cute ! Can you do a tutorial in the near future?? I would love to give this one a try ! Love your
colors also.. |
I just wanted to let those who requested a tutorial know I haven't forgotten, just have had several things come up keeping me from completing it, I have it mostly written out and over the weekend will try to start another purse so I can get some pics to go with it. And thanks so much for all of the kind comments. :)

Thanks Geevee. I appreciate all the work that goes into a tute. Mary
