Batik Purse/Tote/Overnighter?

1 Attachment(s)
Finished this one last night. It is sew big, I can use it as an overnighter. It was not an easy peasy project. Difficult to keep it squared as you're adding the strips. All the batiks were in my stash. There are 4 pockets on the inside. Still have to add the turquoise buttons which are very large. The pattern is from Aunties Two Patterns, and it's the Baily Island Hobo Bag which comes in 2 sizes. I most likely will make the smaller bag as a cross body. Dh made a bag bottom out of masonite at 5:30 this morning so I could bring it to my quilting group for show and tell. Now I just need to buy a pair of great sandals to match.

What a wonderful bag! My dh also made purse bottoms for me from masonite. I bet most people now days don't know what masonite is. In fact I went into home depot one day and they had no clue, but we did find it and it is called something else now.lol

It is a dark brownish board type stuff that is hard and about 1/4 inch thick. Can't remember what they call it now. Some of it has holes some of it does not. Ask and they should be able to show it to you. It was used for many things back when, like the back of stereo cabinets and clothing dressers, etc. Very firm stuff.
