I don't think I've ever seen a batik quite like this. I think it's lovely... but not being a "batik expert", I'd like to get other opinions before I order it.

What do you think? Do you like it? Which of the colors in it would you be most likely to try to bring out with coordinating fabrics? The mauve, or the lavender-blue, or the green?

dakotamaid 03-30-2011 04:14 AM

Love this, any of the colors but I'm partial to blues.:)

zipit 03-30-2011 04:15 AM

I love it! I think I would lean toward lavender and green but you could incorporate mauve as well.

emerald46 03-30-2011 04:21 AM

That is gorgeous. I'm thinking lavender and green as well. I may need a few yards of this.

donnajean 03-30-2011 04:21 AM

I would incorporate purples & greens. Is this fabric on the market now - what manufacturer?

momcpo 03-30-2011 04:23 AM

ooooh, I really like that. I have come to really love batiks. I would go with your favorite color, then a little of the others also.

gal288 03-30-2011 04:26 AM

love it! Any of the colors would look beautiful.

Favorite Fabrics 03-30-2011 04:28 AM

It's not on the market yet. It is part of a future group by Timeless Treasures, due to come out in late May.

I have to make up my mind about this by tomorrow so that I can get my order placed before the April 1st price increase.

Rumbols 03-30-2011 04:36 AM

I agree, lavendar and green. Lovely print.

thequilterslink 03-30-2011 05:13 AM

that is a gorgeous fabric, definetly the purples and greens to go with it.

Teapots and Quilts 03-30-2011 05:39 AM

That is a beauty! I just love batiks...I marvel at the beautiful colors and patterns. I also would pull in lavender and green...and maybe a bit of pale yellow also. I'll have to keep my eyes open for this one. Thanks for the advance peek.

redturtle 03-30-2011 05:52 AM

well in the sample the mauve is definitely popping out...

and then i see the green...

the lavender-blue is there but not so much in the sample...
so if the whole fabric exudes the same tonal qualities i would pull the lav-blu...but i would have to see a larger swatch

and even tho i am one who is not "into" batiks...i luv this fabric...its beautiful!

CarrieAnne 03-30-2011 05:56 AM

How pretty!

erstan947 03-30-2011 06:44 AM

I want it all!:)

Mariposa 03-30-2011 06:47 AM

I'd do mainly the purples, and some green~

Tippy 03-30-2011 06:52 AM

I love batiks and use a lot of them.. I would like this for a sampler quilt, but in more of a supporting than starring role.
I would pull all of the colors out and mix them all up in blocks.. then use this for a border also.. and possibly the back.. it would also make a wonderful summer sundress.. yep.. I'd definitely buy this.

sahm4605 03-30-2011 07:11 AM

I love it very much! I would buy a bolt if I could.

Candace 03-30-2011 07:48 AM

I don't care for it at all.

Wine Woman 03-30-2011 07:54 AM

Beautiful! I would go with the green and mauve. It almost looks like lavender on my computer. I think it would be beautiful in a quilt!

Lori S 03-30-2011 07:56 AM

It would not make it into my shopping basket.

lllog 03-30-2011 07:58 AM

I use this piece as the focus fabric and try to bring in all of the other colors.

amma 03-30-2011 08:00 AM

Pretty!! I would bring out the mauve/lavendar and blues :D:D:D

QuiltnNan 03-30-2011 09:42 AM

I'm partial to the greens, perhaps with mauve.

farscapegal 03-30-2011 10:52 AM

I love batiks. I would buy it.

Why not all of them then your customers can do it their. If you just go with one or two there are going to be people asking for the colors you didn't get. I don't usually buy anything with flowers only but I love this and can see it with each and combinations.

TerryQuilter 03-30-2011 02:04 PM

Lovely fabric, I would go with the lavender and greens also.

cjr 03-30-2011 02:13 PM

Gorgous fabric. All colors to go with it

luckylindy333 03-30-2011 02:52 PM

Wow,that is a really pretty batik. I would put all the colors in with it. I am a scrappy kind of quilt maker- I agree that this fabric would be the focus!

Jim's Gem 03-30-2011 05:24 PM

I like it!!! I would bring out the purples and the the greens!!

coastienest 03-30-2011 05:38 PM

Absolutely love this fabric. I too will have to get a bit of it. I would love to see the purples with it and would consider the greens.
You said the price increase is in April. Will it be a soft increase or hit us hard???

They're going up by about the same amount that all the other makers have raised their prices so far this year. You can expect retail prices to climb by 50 - 75 cents / yard.

It's not the end of the world. I'm expecting to see the same size price increase again in another 6 months or so.

kajaza 03-31-2011 02:27 AM

Oooooooooo Very pretty!!!

Matilda 03-31-2011 03:15 AM

Yooper32 03-31-2011 03:37 AM

Lavendar blue, dilly, dilly.

quiltingnonie 03-31-2011 03:44 AM

As a collector of batiks, have to say I have NEVER seen one with roses. It is gorgeous! There are so many blue to purple batiks that would highlight them beautifully. Of course, would throw in a splash of green.

peabee 03-31-2011 03:46 AM

nice! i would use lots of lavs/soft purple. i would minimize the greens

bamamama 03-31-2011 03:47 AM

All of them!

Conniequilts 03-31-2011 03:49 AM

That is lovely. I would use all the colors.

cindit 03-31-2011 04:33 AM
