Batik Winding Ways

Quilt Stats
Pattern Name: Winding Ways, Accuquilt die Dimensions: 75" X 59" Fabric source/name: all batiks, various manufacturer's Pieced and quilting by machine, SITD My brother is using a spare bedroom as a TV room. It has a large window and he asked me to make a quilt to block the sun. I have already installed a sun block curtain in the window, which really does the job, but this quilt will hang over the window opening. I don't think I would attempt curved piecing without precision die cuts! |
What a beautiful quilt and a beautiful job of piecing. I shy away from curves but that secondary pattern sure makes perfect circles and is gorgeous in the colors you chose. He will love it.

Beautiful!!!!

Lovely quilt!
I adore winding ways and I love this! I haven't added it to my bucket list because the thought of cutting those pieces out just makes me cringe. But you solved that issue with accuquilt dies!
beautifully done

Gorgeous!!!
Nicely done. I have never tried curve piecing. Looks like you did an excellent job making this quilt. Love the fabric you used.

Such a beautiful quilt.
It's beautiful. I have that die, but haven't used it yet

Lovely work.
What a great quilt, masculine.
What a gorgeous quilt! And it's in my favourite autumn colours! :)
Really lovely! Love the colors, pattern and movement.
awesome quilt (or window covering)... wonderful fabric collection. I stay clear of curves but yours look great.
Great! I have that die too, but haven't tried it yet either....I watched a you tube from Quilting from the the Heartland, and although shar does not use a die, her sewing instructions are spot on...
Beautiful quilt. I really like the color combination; it is rather subtle and yet makes a beautiful statement. I do think the curved piecing with batiks is more of a challenge that regular quilting cottons because the tighter weave is less forgiving when pressing down the seams after stitching.
Nicely done.
stunning...not a batik lover, but this is really pretty
Did you use a curved piecing foot?

My brother actually was looking thru this book one day and saw one of the inspiration quilts, then asked me to make this one. I cut the pieces and he selected the 2 fabrics for every block. Then arranged the completed blocks on my design wall. The photo is so disappointing because a lot of the fabrics that look solid actually have subtle design. link to book: http://www.amazon.com/Winding-Ways-Q...s=winding+ways |
It's beautiful. I may have to check out the Winding Ways die.
Very pretty quilt. Love the colors.

Thanks, I just ordered the book! I've had this quilt on my "gotta make this" list for awhile. Yours is beautiful; love your fabric choices.
