Beach Glass is finished!
1 Attachment(s)
Here is my version of Weeks Ringle & Bill Kerr's Beach Glass quilt. In general, I'm happy with it, but I learned that sometimes you can't find all the fabrics you need at one shop. The range of colors I used should have been narrower. My darks were too dark; my lights, too light. In their quilts, in particular, color is very important to achieve the look that they get. My husband says it reminds him of a DNA analysis. My LAQ did her usual great job. I don't have a recipient for it yet, but I'm sure something will come up. Thanks for looking.

luv it......looks awesome

This a beautiful quilt. The colors, although they may not be the exact ones you wanted, complement each other and remind me of the colored sea glass I would find along Revere Beach in Massachusetts.
it looks beautiful the way it is, by not using the exact required material you have put your own individual twist to it which makes it unique
I think it is stunning. Great job
you did a great job.
Great colors, nice work!
I never saw the original design but this is a very pretty use of color. Congratulations on your very pretty new quilt.

I looked it up and yours may be a little bolder, but I think I actually like it better!
Beautiful! All of my fave colors.
I really love it, and the narrow strips of white set off the blue nicely.
It is beautiful. We can be way too critical of our quilts. I always figure that I have to wait a few days and then look at it from a distance to get any sort of realistic view! It is wonderful! Thanks for sharing.
I haven't seen the pattern before, but I think your color selection is just fine. I like it. I like the panto your LA quilter used too. Compliments it nicely.
Beautiful! Love the colors.

What a nice quit and choice of fabrics.

I love it . For me the important thing is to do a quilt more than chose the perfect, acurate colours
Thanks for showing |
I think it came out fabulous!

I clicked on this thread because of your caption "Beach Glass".. one of my sweetest memories from childhood is picking up beach glass on a family vacation... we were driving south from Oregon to San Francisco along the coast and would stop at lonely beaches and comb for glass. Momma put the glass into a clear, cut-glass decanter and kept it in a bathroom for the next 40 years or so. When she passed, neither of my sisters wanted the glass, so now its in MY bathroom!
Your quilt is beautiful... I love the colors! I remember that finding a piece of blue glass was a real treasure! And yes, it DOES look a bit like a gel from DNA analysis!! Lovely quilt!! |
Love it, terrific job and thank you for sharing
Have a Blessed day Ellen |
