this ended up being a quite large baby quilt, but I may have quite large grandbabies who knows?!

sewmuch 07-17-2007 05:15 PM

That's adorable, lucky baby. I didn't quilt when my grandkids were little
so have never made a baby quilt. Looks like fun. :)

kathy 07-17-2007 05:29 PM

Well actually I meant great grandbabies! I have 5 regular ones! I'm trying to make at least 5 nice baby quilts to put away in case I'm not around when they are old enough to have kids of their own.

sewmuch 07-17-2007 05:37 PM

What a nice idea. I am going to try and make my 4 grandkids a quilt for Xmas, am thinking of a jean rag quilt w/flannel backing so they can take them camping.

SandraJennings 07-17-2007 05:46 PM

Those are bears I wouldn't mind having in my cabin! It is adorable....and Care Bears to boot.!

Country Quilter 07-17-2007 06:51 PM

That's georgeous Kathy, I love the gelato colours

kathy 07-18-2007 02:40 AM

Thank you, thank you, thank you. One of my daughters said that she wants it so I told her to claim it for her first grand baby, she said no I want it! (but she's not getting it, shhhh)

That's sooo sweet. That'll be one lucky baby who gets that!

ButtercreamCakeArtist 07-18-2007 07:40 AM

Kathy! OMG! That is lovely! My Grandma made my son a CareBear quilt (what I like!)...It is probably 6-inch blocks of the same kind of Care Bear fabric you used and lots of other matching pastels. Yarn tied.

I think a larger baby quilt is nice. They can use it longer.

This is so beautiful! Great work!~

Celeste 07-22-2007 08:09 PM

Very pretty and sure to be appreciated!

CassandraE 07-24-2007 01:52 PM

kathy 07-25-2007 02:40 AM

thank you all, it's not boastful pride but it does make a girl feel good to hear all these comments!

Joan 07-25-2007 04:11 PM

WOW!!!!-----that is just beautiful. I love all the pastel colors and the Care Bears hiding in the middle of each block. It certainly looks like it took alot of planning........

kathy 09-05-2007 05:21 AM

Feathers, what happened to your avatar?

quilt1932 09-05-2007 10:34 AM

Love the quilt and having it bigger just means it can move on to a "big boy/girl" bed later on.

Marsha 09-05-2007 10:36 AM

kATHY
THIS IS BEAUTIFUL I LOVE IT ALL THE COLORS ARE SO NICE

Steve 09-05-2007 10:41 AM

Cute! I don't think any baby would mind the extra snuggle. When I was making teddy bears we'd say the open arms were an invitation to hug. The same idea surely applies here.

Feathers 09-05-2007 04:38 PM

Hi Kathy:
I still have the same avatar by my name. What avatar are you speaking of? Feathers

kathy 09-06-2007 02:54 AM

Feathers, when I wrote that yesterday you didn't have an avatar! I see it now tho, I thought the grimlins got it!

Feathers 09-06-2007 04:54 AM

Thank you for giving me the "heads up" on those darned gremlins. Glad they decided to return the avatar! LOL Hows the weather in your neck of the woods? ...Texas caost...hope hurricanes aren't in your future. My nephew and honey are in San Antonio with Air Force. We worry about them during times like "Katrina."
Keep Sewing! Feathers

kathy 09-06-2007 08:02 AM

So far so good on the weather. hot & dry or hot & wet!

drella123 01-27-2011 07:31 PM

Your quilt is sooooooooo precious. Love it, love it, love it....

sewingladydi 01-30-2011 06:21 PM

Too cute for words! And I hope your grandbaby is just the right size

Jan T 01-30-2011 06:55 PM

Kids all get big enough to go out and roll around on the grass. The grass hurts their tender skin, so they need a big quilt to learn to crawl on. This darlig quilt will get loved and used a bunch. Lovely colors.
