Been busy the last month or so

I think that my fibro and other chronic pain issues are sort of quiet now, so have taken full advantage of that. Charity quilts below. They were fun to make - low effort but maximum cuteness factor!
The Elmo quilt was inspired by two 7"+/- WOF strips left over from a day of guild pillow case kit making. Elmo is so cute, I just couldn't let him go in the scrap bag! Found the blue fabric at home in some large scraps I bought at a quilt show. The stripe outer border is from Hobby Lobby. I rejected it during one trip to HL, got the Elmo center done and KNEW I had to go back and get it. Love how it looks on this quilt. The Back of Elmo quilt is a black alphabet fabric because Elmo, Alphabet and Sesame Street go so well together. And it's educational! Thomas the Train (aka TTT)- Panels were on sale in WM and I bought 3. Two are finished. I expanded the panel with a black border and the stripe fabric from HL. Love that stripe, because it really adds to this quilt. The back is a Connecting Threads Christmas fabric called Snowflakes I bought about 7 years ago. I put some leftovers from another TTT quilt into the backing. Looks cool to me. |
WOW. Did you pull all of it together! They look great. Glad your issues are quite now. BrendaK

Wow you have been busy, there are going to be some very happy kids-nothing comforts more than a hug wrapped up in a quilt. Your talents and efforts are going to bring some young ones special blessings!
They are toooo cute!!! nice job...luv the border!
Your really cute quilts will bring joy to new owners. They will be loved and that is why we make quilts for others. I am glad you could do these quilts and I hope the remission lasts a long, long time.
Love the stripe borders....amazing how the same material worked wonderfully for both quilts. Great job!
These quilts are adorable, some little one is going to love them.
Very cute quilts!!

I love your cheerful striped borders. They make such a nice accent to your quilts. It looks like you used the same stripe on 2 very different quilts and the both look GREAT!
Your quilts are great! That stripe was perfect.
Someone will love those. Love the bright colors.
Wow, cute quilts. I can see why you went back for the striped fabric. It just makes the quilt. I should stop by my HL to see if they have some of that fabric. I can see it going with some of the focus pieces I have waiting to be made into donation quilts.
Both of them are so cute.
Those are so darn cute. Especially like the Elmo one.

Those are great! Love that striped border fabric. Glad you are feeling better, too.
Fun quilts...I hope your symptoms subside so that you continue to do what you enjoy.
Love the TTT, my great nephew is into TTT and I have made him several. May I inquire as to where you found the front panel for TTT?
My favorite, too. Sometimes a fabric just screams (in a good way) at me "use me!", and this is one of the ones that screamed very loud! There's an innocence about Elmo that appeals to me.
to cute , love them both.:thumbup:

Your quilts look great and I'm really sorry about your fibro problems. Don't know what you're taking but if you're up to trying something new (not prescription) you might want to try MaxPr35. I don't sell it or have an interest in the company. I just know for me IT WORKS!!!! I have neuropathy. Very painful!!!! I was put on Gabapentin. 350 ml. ea. (12 a day) Didn't help very much and was in a lot of pain. Went to beach on vacation and always go to flea market. Guy there was selling it and I thought why not. It's a spray. When the neuropathy acts up I put about 5 sprays in my bath water (hot as I can stand the water). Soak for about 30 minutes and when I get out - my pain is gone. Sometimes when I'm in a hurry, I just spray it on and rub it in. Smells like eucalyptus. I love this stuff!!! Have been using it for about 5 years and to begin with I used it every day now maybe couple times a month. You can google this product - they have a facebook page. For me it works and I don't have to take pills.

Delightful...I love it when you can take a bit of feature fabric and make a great looking quilt...the kids will love these!
Panel was at Walmart in Freehold, NJ. I hope you can find one!
