Thank you for answering my question. Guess it is time to visit the Dollar Tree. I do not have a stash as large as yours, but I love things to be neat and easy to get to and your stash is. Again, a great job.

At the risk of sounding totally stupid, what is poster board? Wondering if I can get it in Canada. It looks great, and I feel inspired!

NUTMEG10 01-15-2011 02:31 PM

Oh that looks so pretty. I envy you.

mom-6 01-15-2011 02:40 PM

Posterboard is also called railroad board from some of our suppliers in the office products industry. It is thicker than cardstock or manila file folders, comes in 22"x28" sheets in white and a variety of colors. Here in Texas it is widely available wherever you would buy school supplies...dollar stores, grocery store, Walmart, office supply stores.

this is a super neat de-cluttering

Your stash looks "picture perfect" to me. You did a great job there.

kbs 01-15-2011 06:08 PM

looks great

annette1952 01-15-2011 06:39 PM

So pretty! Great job!

tlpa 01-15-2011 06:47 PM

You did a great job. And it looks like the shelves take up much less room than the containers.

fink9 01-15-2011 06:54 PM

Looks great. I am trying to organize myself but don't have enough space in my sewing room. I think I need a larger room or I won't be able to get any more fabric.

Zappycat 01-15-2011 06:57 PM

You did a great job! My fabric is in bins too. UGH!

quiltgrammyt2 01-15-2011 06:57 PM

Nice job!

Jan T 01-15-2011 09:14 PM

So well organized and laid out. Great job. Don't you worry about it getting dusty?

Damsel in DisDress 01-15-2011 09:17 PM

Looks Fantastic!

If you look close I made clear plastic drapes to protect from dust

Annz 01-15-2011 10:33 PM

You did a good job with the fabrics. Now I have to do mine.

amma 01-15-2011 10:39 PM

ijJoannes give me their boards their fabric is wound on, I cut them 12 in. long and wrap my fabrics on them. Fee...easily cut...works great.

rona thickpenny 01-16-2011 12:44 AM

I wish .

tuxedokitty 01-16-2011 02:18 AM

Holy Cow! This looks so neat, tidy and organized - very envious. I have everything in the plastic totes too. Cumbersome, heavy, and what started out as totes for flannels, totes for novelty, totes for backing fabric - has turned into "just put your newest fabric in the tote on the top and sort it all out later".

gaby4v 01-16-2011 02:43 AM

WOW, what a job!!! Wanna come over and do my stash??

Thanks mom-6!:)

Awesome room - guess I should get started on mine, well maybe later, gotta check out whats new on the board first.

Hobbyhorse1027 01-16-2011 05:49 PM

Wonderful job. It almost inspires me to organize my sewing space.

That is EXACTLY why I really wonder whether I want to put all my fabrics on a shelf! LOL <wave>

marmalade 02-08-2011 10:16 AM

Great organization! It looks like you have your own mini-store to go shopping at! Best of all, your fabric is accessible - no more fumbling thru plastic tubs!

JanetM 02-08-2011 10:31 AM

I did mine the same way. It is so much easier to find that perfect fabric when it is right there on the shelf and not buried in a tote box.

Your doing great...keep going

ploverwi2 08-01-2011 09:02 PM

It is so wonderful. I have much much more fabric than that though. I have my fabric storage room set up somewhat like that also. It is so much fun to just walk in, take one off the shelf, cut what I want, and then put it right back.

wanda lou 08-01-2011 09:09 PM

looks great.
