Beautiful! Batiks are my favorite. Can't wait to see more!

Beautiful colors Eddie. I think it will make an awesome quilt. Keep us updated on your progress.

I LOVE IT! :-D

I didn't read yesterday where you threw the first 15 in the trash??? LOL......now that the word is out, you'll have folks lurking around your place waiting to see what you throw out. I'm joking, but please take those & put them in a plastic bag. You might need a snippet of one of those colors one of these days & you'd be wondering why you let it go. I'm not up on batiks, but I think they differ because they're all done by hand & would be hard to match up.

Haha...yeah, that's me. When I was 24. That pic was actually taken on the ferry between Dover, England and Calais, France. A friend and I went on vacation and were playing around Europe for a couple of weeks. It was a fun time! I was feeling kind of retro this week so thought I'd make this my avatar for a while. :D

Great choices in fabrics Eddie. Can't wait to see how you progress with this. But beware, once you use batiks there is no turning back. They are like a drug.

Slacker!?!? Who you callin' a 'slacker'?!?! :D Just for that, I'm going to make you look at what I got done today.   I actually had done 15 blocks today and had them sewed together in rows (5 x 3 layout) and was installing the first glass fabric when I noticed a fatal flaw in my block construction method (I had tried a shortcut, which obviously wasn't going to work), so I tossed all of that into the trash and started over. So here's the first 5 blocks sewed together with the glass in. This is going to work, so I am in a groove now and movin' on! :D

TRASH?????   O MY
Beautiful work so far tho. Love the colors ...but the trash??

O.k., I went and dug them out of the trash. If I get enough initiative, I'll take the seam ripper to them and re-sew them the proper way.

I am anxious so see more of this quilt. Would love to know what method you are using to make it. I want to try this pattern but am nervous about how to do it.

Plus, would you mind sharing what your fatal mistake was so we don't do the same thing? We won't laugh, honest! 8-)

"the fold in half and sew up each side then turn right side out and fold" -- that one. It's the method I learned from the Cathedral Window Quilts book by Lynne Edwards.

I'll take a pic here shortly of my failed shortcut and will post a narrative of how I went down the garden path. :D

Lookin' good! Can't believe you trashed a bunch though! Don't you have a seam ripper?

Yes, and we spend way too much time together! :-D
