Fantastic use of scraps And thanks for tellling how it came about. I'm always amazed at the skills it takes to handle those small pieces and to create a design that will do them justice. Good job!

PS- what is the black contraption next to the pickle jar-- it looks so familiar, but I can't for the life of me figure out what it is.....

Rob..it's an old silver coronet laying on it's side. It belonged to MrOk's grandfather who was a very small town band leader in the early 1900's. We also have his lyre, music stand and leather case for it as well as his baton. I had it cleaned about 10 years ago. The instrument repair man told me to keep it out of its case as that was doing more harm than good (mold issues). Being silver it tarnishes and keeping it clean is not a priority!

The skill and patience and dedication is just WOW. I would not have the courage to undertake such a massive project. What a beautiful quilt! Please tell me you did something special to reward yourself for finishing such a complex, demanding, and LONG project.
