I just finished the binding on this yesterday. I made in school colors (West Branch Bears) using, of course, a bear paw block. The red and black 4-patches have a quilted bear paw in them. Those are kind of hard to see but look neat on the quilt. We borrowed the school's street stencil (they paint bear paws on the street in front of the school) and resized it to make a stencil. The pieced paws are stitched in the ditch. This was a fun one to make...I love red and black quilts :)

That is just beautiful. Black and red color combination is one of my favorite. I also love the bear paw pattern. I'm going to have to make one of these someday.

Gorgeous! Has a really graphic look--I would never thought of using black, white, & red on a bear paw quilt because you usually see them in very traditional fabrics, but yours is fantastic! Well done!
