Black Tie Affair times 2
2 Attachment(s)
Several months ago I was at a fellow quilters home & we were going through some of the things she had acquired with her longarm. (she bought it used) Amongst everything, we ran across some pictures from a quilt show from 1997. A couple of pictures stood out. It was of a bow tie quilt. I studied it & discovered the person had used the 10-minute block for it! Light bulb dawns & I came home & went through my charm squares & came up with quilt #1. But....I wasn't happy with it, so I thought it out a little better & made #2. #1 is going to my new Grandson, due in Oct. #2 is going to our local quilt show in Oct. I think they look classy!

Your quilting is superb, and what a clever way to present the bow ties.
the quilting looks superb on the first one--I sure would have been happy with that one! good thing you made the second one to satisfy yourself--either would be really cute for a grandson!
What a great idea !

How fun to find an old picture and turn it into what you want. You made two really neat quilts.

Love the buttons! Very nice!
Great quilt and the quilting lines are prefect for it!!
Very cool. Like everyone else, I love the buttons to add to the tux look. Nice job!
Very nice -- like both versions. There are many splendid quilt patterns which make up beautifully, without being too complicated.
Awesome quilts very masculine. I just love the quilting upon them. If I were to make a mans' quilt, I'd use this pattern. Thanks for sharing your wonderful quilts with us. Mary
those are so cute!!!!
What a wonderful touch with the buttons. I can just imagine Fred Astaire or Cary Grant being in love with either quilt!
Love these!
Oh my gosh, that is just adorable. I love your vision.
LOVE LOVE the 10 minute block .. Your quilts look beautiful !
Very nice. I think that using wedding colors that this would make a very nice wedding quilt. With the background of white on white and the ties the color of the grooms tie. Very modern.
Looks wonderful!!!
wow, I think they both look great! Never thought of this idea, but its terrific to share.
I love both of them. The second one is so elegant! It is on my bucket list to make a bow tie wall hanging using fabric from men's ties. Want to make all but one bow tie in dark colors and the remaining one in bright red or something else as bright. Will name it..."Everybody Loves A Clown." Sigh....one day.
They definitely look very classy, especially with the addition of the black buttons.
Love them both, but #2 is great! Would make a wonderful wall hanging!
