This quilt was 63 different blocks, in various blacks and whites, with surprises of color splashed throughout. Basically, It was a sampler quilt, and rather than do an "all over" quilt patter, I quilted each individual block. Between the piecing and the quilting, I think I worked on this for the better part of 6 months!
The bed it is displayed on is a king. It wasn't made for that bed, but it was the best place to take a photo!

Was this a pattern or did you choose the different blocks on your own? I'd love to know the name of all the different ones you used but that is a lot for you to have to tell us.

shopaholic97 07-28-2010 08:56 AM

I love black & white quilts especially with some red thrown in.

Carol in Colorado 07-28-2010 09:06 AM

This might be a dumb question, but how did you quilt the blocks individually? I like the idea, but have no idea how to put it together.

Tudey 07-28-2010 11:53 AM

I assembled the entire quilt top like I normally would, I just quilted each block according to its pattern---instead of say, stippling an all over design. Hope that makes sense!
