Quilt Queen 2, your profile quilt is pretty sharp too!

Gotta try that one. Good job.

chermitch 01-28-2011 04:25 PM

Wow I love that quilt!!!Very interesting!!!Was it hard to do?

quiltyjax 01-29-2011 11:34 AM

I think that's such an intriguing pattern. I checked for the book on amazon.co.uk. I was amazed it was out in 1995! I have never seen the book nor anyone's attempt at making one.

I just ordered a used one off there for £10 plus postage! :-D I thought the same - how's that been around all that time and stayed under the radar? We'll see when the book comes! :-D

Annz 01-29-2011 06:05 PM

Oh now that is diffrent.

sewwhat85 01-29-2011 07:21 PM

drose 01-30-2011 05:16 AM

The book by Margaret J.Miller.

Grandma58 02-02-2011 07:45 PM

wow!

k3n 02-03-2011 01:33 AM

Hi drose, my book came. Looks very intriguing though time consuming but I like the idea that I am designing my own unique quilt. I'm in the process of reading the book through then I'll start with some of her suggested 'exercises'. Such fun! Thanks for introducing me to this! :-D :-D :-D

drose 02-03-2011 06:09 AM

Always happy to share, can't wait to see what you do with this.I'm starting to transfer to the full quilt graph.Wish me luck!

k3n 02-03-2011 06:26 AM

Good luck! Can't wait to see what you come up with! I'm very taken with the interlocking ribbony type ones...

drose 02-03-2011 06:35 AM

I really want to do one like the cover but I can't figure out which grid it's made from.See if you can.Thanks.

I think it's Grid C. :-D

drose 02-03-2011 06:42 AM

Okay,I'll check it out.Have you decided which you're going to do first?

Not yet - I want to finish reading it right through and have a go at some of the design exercises to really understand colour, light, value etc. But I like the assymetrical grids and the ribbons on page 46 'Running With Margaret' so probably something along those lines. I printed some graph paper off the internet and I'll get my colouring pencils out and experiment! :-D

drose 02-03-2011 07:35 AM

I shoud have done that first.Oh well.

k3n 02-03-2011 08:13 AM

Not necessarily - we all have our own way of doing things! And I convinced my DH that I had to buy a set of proper artist's colouring pencils a while back so I've got to let him see me using them! LOL

drose 02-03-2011 08:21 AM

I'm new at quilting so I'm open for suggestions.Mybe we should collaborate on this.Who knows, together we may come up with a book of our own.I've looked at your web page, you could easily do a book.

k3n 02-03-2011 11:37 AM

That's kind of you to say so - I have thought of it but I tend to use other ppl's techniques. Have to come up with an original idea first!

drose 02-03-2011 02:50 PM

All you need is a "Twist" it would be hard to find something really new...don't you think?

k3n 02-04-2011 01:28 AM

Yes I suppose there's nothing new under the sun... now and then I think I've come up with something, then I google and it's already out there!

jdavis 02-05-2011 04:57 PM

Cool! I like the way the design extends into the border.
