I posted this centre recently, asking for opinions on how to orient it. I went with on point and used this wonderful Jinny Beyer fabric for the border and I did my best to line up the colours so they continued the spectrum effect of the centre...- it's now in the quilting queue. It finished at 44" square and I must say I am very pleased with it! :-D

Love that you didn't go with the straight setting, and LOVE the way you really worked that border fabric to your advantage. Genius.

Great colors, great movement, there's interesting things going on all over that quilt. Very refreshing.

It's like an abstract landscape. The beach, land, setting sun/sky.

Fabulous!

dove 03-11-2011 04:24 AM

that's really cool...looks like a floating screensaver...very pretty

gaigai 03-11-2011 04:50 AM

It's beautiful, but I can't look at it without turning my head so that I see it set straight! LOL

Mariposa 03-11-2011 05:03 AM

Nicely done!!

Barb_MO 03-11-2011 05:07 AM

You sure did a good job lining up the colors. That Jinny Beyer fabric is perfect...how lucky can one get?

Thank you that is some compliment! Perhaps when it's quilted I'll do that. I love her fabrics, they're so unusual and versatile and they really make a quilt sing! :-D

butterflywing 03-11-2011 09:20 AM

the colors flow beautifully!

gaigai 03-11-2011 01:11 PM

Nope, I've gone back several times to look at it and each time I just HAVE to turn/tilt my head to the side. I can't look at it straight. On the good side, my neck has popped and cracked each time, so now it feels all limber!! LOL

KiwiQuilter 03-11-2011 01:25 PM

Wow - very effective! It looks great.

butterflywing 03-11-2011 02:41 PM

did you build the grid yourself? is it an original?

aorlflood 03-11-2011 02:48 PM

Oh wow! It made me feel fleetingly dizzy! :)
Very nice!

CarolinePaj 03-11-2011 02:52 PM
