I was curious when you mentioned your blooming lilacs...I had to go look for it. Wow! This is one gorgeous quilt!! Love it! And the colors are awesome together! This looks like a very difficult pattern, but I see from a comment you made that it's just squares and 9 patches! Amazing! I may have to try this someday. Definitely will be bookmarking this for future reference.

Thanks Karen, it is from the book Tradition With A Twist. And here's a link to the quilt after Sherryl quilted it!

She did a great job on your quilt! It compliments your design so nicely. What a small world...Sherryl actually quilted my second quilt for me! A very kind and generous person on this board paid Sherryl to quilt my quilt for me. Was I shocked! It was the kindest thing someone who doesn't know me has ever done. I still get goose bumps when I think of that wonderful act of kindness and my son is really enjoying it! Now it's off to the laundry room to re-wash the fabric and keep my fingers crossed that this will all work out! :-)

While it may be easy to make, looks like it took a lot of planning since not many of the 9-patches would be the same.

Gorgeous quilt. Don't blame you for keeping it for yourself.

PW, it really isn't hard at all. Just start with 5 or 6 different fabrics. Alternate with a 9 patch made from the fabrics on either side: Like this

Fabrics 1-5,

Fabric 1/9-patch from fabric 1&2/Fabric 2/9-patch from fabs 2&3/Fabric 3/9-patch from fabs 3&4/Fabric 4/9-patch from fabs 4&5/Fabric 5
