Blue Batik Strip Quilt for Grandson
2 Attachment(s)
This is for my 13 year old grandson in Florida - his favorite color is blue so I think he will like it! It is quilted by my friend Amy in a curl type panto so it looks like rolling waves - the tropical fish on the back just seemed right for it too.

One lovely boy quilt, and especially nice for a boy!
My grandsons would love it.
That is one awsome quilt. He will love it.
He's going to LOVE it! The first narrow border really sets it off. Great job!
I absolutely love it - both sides!
What a great gift! |
Love the quilt and the backing you've used. Is it a jelly roll race quilt with 2-1/2 inch squares between the strips? I like that idea. Makes it more interesting. Been planning one of those myself and will have to remember this.

Very very nice. I especially like the light blocks breaking up the strips.
That's really nice. Like the use of the squares between the strips. Gives it movement and interest. All the fabrics are great and so is the back.
I love blue too. Love this quilt. The backing is the perfect touch for this quilt. Wonderful job!
Perfect for Florida!
That is so pretty. Love the back too

This is a gorgeous quilt. Simple, but elegant. I think the back looks like it was made especially for this quilt. Thanks for sharing.

Have a Blessed day Ellen |
Looking for tropical fist to applique. Do you know where you found that material?
He's going to be over the moon when he receives it -- both sides are spectacular....
It was a jelly roll that I added to and took some out with 2 1/2 squares in between - because I added more to it I think it made the white squares more irregular but like how it came out.

It is just a strip quilt made with a jelly roll that I added to (and took out some). I added the white squares at the end of each strip before sewing strips together. I think the white really added nicely (it is actually a cream batik).
