Yesterday I started this sweatshirt jacket and finished it today.
The shirt is navy blue. I left the sleeves along for more easy of comfort. |

Great looking jacket. Did you have a pattern?

Dawn,
Your jacket is gorgeous!! How do you make these projects so fast? :D I love the colors you used & the pattern, too. Thank you for sharing with all of us!! :D :D :D :D |
Very Pretty!!! I love the blues :D:D:D
|
Thanks, I just cut the sleeves off and up the sides for the pattern.
I pieced the squares together then did the flip & stitch method with the strips. Then I serged it back together and bound it. Oh, I bought a 1 size larger sweatshirt and by the time is shrinks, it will fit perfectly! |
That's a nice looking jacket!!
|
One Day :!: It looks so cozy

I really like that!

sawsan, Cut a sweatshirt apart and sew your fabric directly onto the sweatshirt. You do not need any batting or linine (unless you want to).
I quilted mine and didn't have any trouble at all and didn't use any extra fabric. Maybe this will help you. http://www.ehow.com/way_5779787_inst...rt-jacket.html |

Hmmm...gives me an idea for a dressier, crazy patch jacket using black velvet and black satin scraps left over from making prom dresses not that many years ago...instead of using zippers to close, would use decorative frogs. Also a good way to use up sweatshirts on hand that are in good shape, but that one is tired of....
