Blue and Yellow Quilt just back from LAer

2 Attachment(s)
Recently got this quilt back from the LA It is pieced on both front and back. Will let you decided which is which since my friend and I can't agree. I know which I intended to be the front and which the back, but neither my friend nor my LA agree with me.

The one I consider to be the front is from a pattern called Chain Letter designed by Daniela Stout and is a Cozy Quilt Designs. This is the first time I ever tried to follow a pattern. And also the first time I set on point.

The back I just made up as I went...

Both sides are beautiful, so whichever is facing up is the "front"! A neat idea for a double duty quilt. Thanks for sharing.

Love the two sided quilt. I can't decide either which is the front as both are very pretty!

kitsykeel 04-27-2013 06:39 PM

That is one beautiful quilt, or should I say two beautiful quilts. Love both sides.

QuiltnNan 04-27-2013 06:52 PM

very pretty

nanacc 04-27-2013 06:52 PM

Why do you have to choose, when both are TOPS in my book! Love them!

QuiltnNan 04-27-2013 06:53 PM

i just noticed that your LAer got the back and front lined up really well. from all the recent discussions here, it seemed that would be nearly impossible. kudos to the LAer.

Beautiful quilt. I like both but if I had to pick one to show up all the time it would be picture #2. Great job.

Tartan 04-27-2013 06:58 PM

Both sides are super! I think first one with the large blue border would be my choice for the top.

trennag 04-27-2013 07:00 PM

I love your quilt! I know the pattern for chain mail so I know what one is your top, but the back is really pretty too!

tesspug 04-27-2013 07:01 PM

It has no back, it is a two fronted quilt. Very pretty.

mary quilting 04-27-2013 07:33 PM

love them both but I like the second one best

mom-6 04-27-2013 07:53 PM

Both sides are gorgeous. I think my favorite is the first one. . .simply because it has more blues.

Both sides are wonderful--I would have a hard time deciding which side to show! I have always loved blue and yellow quilts.

SheriR 04-27-2013 09:14 PM

homecaregiver 04-28-2013 04:28 AM

I don't think it matters which is front or back, both sides are equally beautiful.

gabeway 04-28-2013 04:46 AM

Double the work, double the beauty! Awesome!

sew_Tracy 04-28-2013 04:48 AM

That came out sew cute. I love the colors and designs on both sides! I say the front is the side that is cleanest!

Baloonatic 04-28-2013 05:41 AM

I think both sides are pretty! Great job piecing them, and your choice of colors are so soothing.
Would it be possible to see a better pic of the quilt on the frame on the left in your pics please? It looks exceptional too!

QuiltingKrazy 04-28-2013 05:46 AM

Double Beauty! I just it all depends on your mood for that day! Love it! or both sides!

quiltinggirl 04-28-2013 05:47 AM

Beautiful quilt!!

ssnare 04-28-2013 05:50 AM

Very pretty, love them both.

MartiMorga 04-28-2013 06:05 AM

I wouldn't want to decide, I would want both sides up, what will you do? How can you look at one side knowing a beautiful quilt is facing down? Love it, and I love blue, yellow quilts!

mighty 04-28-2013 06:20 AM

Beautiful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

KarenR 04-28-2013 06:35 AM

Love it!!!!
How did your LA get both quilts lined up?

twospoiledhuskies 04-28-2013 06:45 AM

You did a wonderful job on both. I agree with the ladies you can use both as a top. My favorite is the 1st one. I noticed the steps next to the bed and thought you must have an inspector. Maybe you should have him/her decide??

SueDor 04-28-2013 06:46 AM

They are both beautiful!

laurafet 04-28-2013 07:08 AM

Wow! Love them both!

Bobbielinks 04-28-2013 08:33 AM

Oh my, oh my, oh my! Love them both! I would love to see a close up of the quilting.

Grandma Jane 04-28-2013 08:54 AM

both sides are beautiful - I don't think I would call either the "front" just whatever side suited my fancy that day I would put face up.

Actually she missed on the "back" by about 2" and was devastated. LOL! I told her not to worry about it. I knew when I gave her the 2-sides that they may not match perfectly after quilting The "front" was perfect and the 2" problem on the back was at the very top and (as far as I was concerned) looked like I planned it that way.
