Amen to both of you! I'm 59 and don't even want to think about having to give up my crafts.

Here is my March 9 patch. I choose to use a layer cake by Benartex called Patternista.
I love the bright colors and wild, dramatic patterns.:D |

OOps, Double post!
|
Dubib...I'm glad you liked it. I found it in Marti Michell's book. I've started using her templates as much as possible and I like my results much better.

Hey Ya'll. I did decide that the block I made is going ta be a pillow. I put borders on it. So here it is. (I still plan on doing one ta replace it.)
As you can see the contrast isn't right & It won't lay flat. |
Definately will be a pretty pillow.

Her fellow BOM'rs--don't forget to post your March Block pictures over on Quilt Story's link-up too! So far they all look great! I'm leaving on a 3 week RV trip on Thursday so won't be able to make my block till we return at the end of March. At least I'll have my computer to check on everyone's progress and I'm taking handwork to do.
|
yaya have a good time! Thanks for the link.
|
Have a great time Yaya!

I went to my LQS on my lunch hour to pick out fabrics. She had these all together, so I picked up what I needed and still had time to get a milkshake before going back to work. Quickest I have ever picked out fabric. Wanted to get something different than I usually do. This is my nine patch variation. :)

sustraley, love your colors and block.

Month 1 - 9 Patch

Here is my first block. It's on page 203 of "501 Rotary-Cut Quilt Blocks" and it's called Puss In The Corner. Please don't look too closely...stripes are not forgiving. This will be the first block for my husband's quilt made from his mother's scraps. I'm trying to use her boyish prints, but really, she sewed for girls so even the blues have flowers... Thanks for looking.
|
sustraley, great block and lovely colors!
SheriR, men do like flowers :D It's nice to use your MIL's scraps, even with flowers and stripes! |
