BOM top finished!! 3 years in the making
1 Attachment(s)
Started this block of the month Quilt three years ago because it had a lot of appliqué and I had never used yellow with a quilt before. So I set out to expand my horizons. Finally finished it and am pretty pleased with the results. It's from the pattern book flowerpots by Cindy Lammon. The colors seem a little washed out, they are somewhat brighter. I learned so much with this quilt. Now have started on a BOM at LQS. So far it is in it's second month and I am done with the blocks and just waiting for July's! Perhaps it will be done much sooner that this one. :)

Lovely top!
I love that. I haven't seen anything like it.
Very very pretty! So glad you didn't give up on it! Congratulations on finishing it!
Really love these colors together! Very nice.

very pretty quilt

Thanks for all the kind comments. I really learned a lot about applique and fused applique in the making of this quilt. I also now have discovered that I kind of like the pale yellow and light blue combo. It looks crisp and fresh...springy!
I just scored 5+ yards of 56 in cotton fabric very similar to that in this quilts border. I want to find a pattern that would use it and some combo of blue for a double bed sized quilt for my blue bedroom. |
Being the flying geese addict that I am.... I love the strip with two different sizes! Something new to try. Congratulations on a beautiful - if long awaited - finish!
It's very attractive:) Isn't it great to have a finish? YAY. Really like your colors.
DaisyDebby - You are absolutely right! Finished is a great feeling....well, I still need to quilt it, but the piecing is done!! Yahoo!
nicely done
Very pretty. I love the soft colors.
You did a great job on your quilt. Your color combination works well. BOM's are difficult for me as I don't like cutting fabric for just one square and I'm usually fired up when starting a quilt and it is hard to have to wait for another block to come in the mail.
You done good!
Great job! Bright and cheery.
Congratulations on the finish. It is very pretty.
Great quilt. love your color selection.
Thanks everyone, for the kind words. I really like it. As I said, blue is my color, but up until now, yellow wasn't in my comfort zone. But now I think I see more blue and yellow quilts in my future....in fact, I am working on one on my EQ7.

That would fit right in to my cottagy looking house. I do a lot of blue and yellow because the house begged me to.
