Love the quilt. I'm not sure which thread I would prefer. While the varigated could be pretty, I wouldn't want to distract from the quilt.

I'm new to quilting (1 yr + 3mo), and my suggestion is black thread on the top and variegated from the bobbin. A unique look for both the top and backing. A GREAT job - I like it very much.
