Okay, tell me more about the beads--I know where to get them. They would be attached at the end of the tassels? Is that just a knot, bead, knot sort of thing? Or is the bead tied on? Can you bead lovers explain how it'd look? :D

Beautiful bookmarks.

Karla~ I would attach a few beads at the end of the tassle. make a knot.a few beads and then a knot , so it looks finished. that way the beads can hang over the pages in the book.

Karla,
what a great idea for students! I love the darker colors you are using. Geez, someday, I might actually make something for me....

Do you insert cardboard in them?

If you use beads with larger holes you can place a smaller bead on the thread..loop the thread through a larger bead (make the loop large enough to pull the whole book mark through) then tie it off at the top of the bead, trim the short string, and slide the smaller bead over the knot to hide it. Arrange the now two strings on either side of the big bead. Make sense? I know what I mean it sounded confusing to me when I re-read it LOL

I really think they look awesome even without the beads though. Maybe try some narrow ribbon through a few with longer strands to hang over the pages. Make it easy and frugal on yourself!!

These look terrific! You're going to be very busy, what with making bookmarks for your craft fair, for your students, and for all the people on this board!

Too much? OK, skip the students--get 'em pencils instead!
