Here is all of the items I took to Willow Creek in Kalona Iowa today. She buys my products. This isn't a very big order I ran out of time!! But the next order hopefully I will get alot more done.

The navy and white one is a Jane Stickel block I did a redraft on. I had it sitting here so I used it in a hotpad.

Beautiful Rhonda - I bet they go very quickly! Seeing the scale on the last pic next to the machine is so impressive.

They are all so intricate and nice! The star point blocks I thought had errors but you intended for the points to be backwards!! That is something else! They are all so very nice. You do great work, as always!! :D :D

Thanks Katrine. I love making them. The lady who I have sold to for the last 12 years never wanted keychains. She took them as mini quilts and put them on the Amish doll's lap as if the doll made the quilt. I used to make these things for her by the dozens. I made 80 of them one time for her in one order.

This gal I am selling to now is nuts over the keychains so I like that. I do get tired of making them tho.

It is a paddlewheel pattern at least that is my name for it. It probably has a name or names but I don't know what it is. My mom doesn't like it because she sees the swastica in it. I guess you could see it that way but it is one of my favorites and I use it in differant forms alot.
I wish I had remembered to take a pic of the finished ones! I finished the Ohio Star and the Paddlewheel but got in a hurry and didn't get the pics.

Yes Sulabug that is my Singer. I got it at a yard sale for $25 in 1983 and I use it nearly everyday. It is a 1950s reproduction of an 1850's Singer. It has it's ups and downs but I love my machine.

Rhonda 03-19-2010 06:51 AM

Thank you everyone!! I love making miniatures. I don't have the patience for bit stuff!! It drives me insane to do long seams. I hate hemming for that reason. too boring and takes forever to finish! LOL I like quick pieces! And I love the variety. I can't make the exact same thing twice. I did it for the DJ swaps but it was hard to keep going on the same block over and over!!

LOL no I don't use tweezers. I guess my fine motor control works well. LOL I use 1" blocks in these that my friend Dorothy makes for me. She sews and cuts out hundreds of these for me. Saves me alot of time. I can pick up the blocks and design without having to do the construction of the blocks. We use my cutdown method which allows us to have tiny pieces within the 1" block. She also makes the Star point blocks for me in the 1" and the Bostons. Once you do the joining of the fabric you can cut it any size you want.

Nope no batting. I spray it thoroughly with Magic Sizing and let it dry overnight. It gets pretty stiff.

Did you use a piece of fabric for the back and just turn it inside out?
