Bookshelf Wallhanging
1 Attachment(s)
I haven't got someone to hold it, so I pinned it to a curtain! I just finished this bookshelf. It was so much fun to make. I wrote the names on the book with my embroidery machine and some of the books I just cut a picture from a piece of material and appliqued it. The pattern is designed by Marianne Roberts and published in the Australian Patchwork & Quilting magazine Vol 17 No 8 February 2009. I adjusted the size to fit my available space. We are a group of 5 ladies who work together once a week and everyone is working on her own project, but each one get a turn to suggest something that we all make, so that one day when we are old and shaky (about 300 years from now if I look at all the things we still want to make - LOL) we can look at the quilt/wall hanging and think - Rina suggested this. Thanks for looking.

This is awesome! Guess I'd better get off here and start sewing...after I make the bed, put a load of laundry in, clean up the breakfast mess, iron a blouse and then maybe shower and get dressed. Oh, well...maybe I can sew tomorrow! lol

This is gorgeous right down to the spider web!!!! :) I adore this quilt - so much put into it - it looks so real! You did a wonderful job.. Enjoy!
|
I really do want to make one of these. Love the spiderweb - mine will have to have one of those.
|
I love your bookcase quilt!

Thank you for your kind comments. Jillnjo, the size of mine is 43" x 60", but it can easily be adjusted by adding another shelf or by taking one away and when you "build" your shelves, you either start or end with books standing up, so that you can use that side to get the right length, either by adding another book or slicing a book in half. :-)
|
This is so cool! I love how you put a spider web in it too.
|
Just adorable right down to all the what-nots even! Great job!!!:thumbup:

Looks fantastic! Nice job! :)
|
Brlillaintly done.

I like your wall hanging and all the interesting little items you have included in it. Do I see a dusty cobweb hanging in the corner on the right side????? If so, that is a homey touch as I get them in my book cases.
