Pretty quilt.
I vote for the dark pink for the first narrow border.

I think it looks great as is...no border needed.

I'd do a 1" cream border first, then a wider orange one.

A light pink small stop border 1 1/2 " then a narrow 1/2" orange and a 3" to 5" dark pink might work.

I see why you are thinking of that fabric - that color is in one of the blocks. Maybe if you add the cream color as a small border so the rest of it floats - then use the dark pink as the final border. That way the small dark pink squares wouldn't blend into the border.

I like this idea.

The yellow first and then the dark pink would be lovely. You could use scraps of the pinks for the binding if you are short - it would be lovely!

I agree with a cream border than a darker one!

Congratulations on finishing your first bed-size quilt. Very pretty and be sure to show us more.

I just finished my first D9P and had the same problem - didn't want some of the squares to float away into the border. What I did thanks to suggestions from members of this board was do a very narrow stop border in a totally different color (black) than was in the rest of the quilt, then used the background fabric as the wider border and then a darker binding.

Dark pink border would reall set it off. Great quilt.
