I barely got my 2 cents in and saw you had fixed it perfectly. It is now perfect. I love it.

Number 3 is my favorite.
I like the third one the best only because I think it ties in better with your center, but really, they all appear to be too busy and detract from the beauty of the center of your quilt.....IMHO.
perfect with the narrow yellow and black

I really like that you went back and tried the solid borders. The center pops out of the frame you've made of those.
BTW, what is the pattern you used on that or what is that technique called? Is it a type of bargello? I love the look, it is beautiful. |
I love this one...the one with the narrow light border and wide black border.

Thanks everyone. I'm sold. I agree all of them were detracting a bit so I went back to the drawing board and put in narrow light yellow border then a wide black border and POP!!!

I agree that they seem to distract from the center. Maybe something a little simpler and darker.
Well if I had looked at page 3, I would have seen that you changed it and it looks fantastic.
I like the third.
I think the third is very beautiful.
#3 is great I think.
The light yellow & black border is perfect. Really shows up your fantastic work & pattern. Really makes it pop. The others didn't do it justice.
Your border
Of the 3 that you show I would pick #3 but having said that I feel that they are all too busy for the quilt. Your quilt is so beautiful that they detract from the design. I believe in the kiss principal - keep it simple sweetie. I think a plain rose border then add another one in black would make a stunning addition. That's just my opinion.
My opinion is: Go with your creative side. I just read a pattern that said to always start with the border and then work with a pattern and colors to set it off. Ooops, that's not what I do so whatever I think may be going down the twisted path....but it's my path. I think the center of your quilt is marvelous. The 4th pic is conservative, beautiful, formal.
From my own experience go with your own creativity. If you want to do patchwork around it, maybe look at different designs or colors. |
I also like the 3rd one!
I agree you should have a solid color border and not these listed.
I would choose the third one!
I like #3 the best.
Beautiful quilt... I think the 3rd border looks terrific with it..
i agree with the sentiments that the peiced borders detract from your center. My eye wants somewhere to rest or frame the center.
Since you asked, if it were mine, I would audition a skinny narrow border, to mimmic a double mat on a framed picture and then black. A soft textured fabric in a medium tone, similar to a mat might work if you want to expand the size of the quilt. |
I like the third one.
The third one has a lot of interest!
I think the third one.
I'm sorry, I didn't read all the responses but the first page. I agree that those borders take away from the quilt.
3rd one is my favorite
I like the 3rd the best.
You nailed it with the yellow and black border! Really makes the quilt pop.

I like 3 also it seems to frame the center but what do you think of just doing it in all pink (no yellow) or all yellow ( no pink)? But then again I do like 1 also. Beautiful!
I like the third one...nice quilt top!
I tend to agree with this comment. Audition a sample border before you do all.

None of them, they all detract from the quilt. Use a medium sized floral instead. Or black (like background) with accents of the darkest red/pink.
I agree with yourstruly quilts.
Solid color to not take anything away from the beauty of the center
None of these! I think your work is so beautiful, you need a simple solid color border or possibly two borders that are solid maybe the black and a blue that pulls the colors of the vase outside the picture and into the frame??? Just my opinion, sorry for the wordiness! Respectfully.
If I had to choose from just these options, I would choose the third one, however, I agree with others, that these borders are too bold and graphic for this beautiful fracture. I think they all draw attention away from it. Have you considered other options?
I also would use a floral or a black first then the floral.

I like third one too
#3 is my choice.
