I barely got my 2 cents in and saw you had fixed it perfectly. It is now perfect. I love it.

Grandma Peg 01-08-2012 12:11 PM

Number 3 is my favorite.

Snorky Lvs2Quilt 01-08-2012 12:32 PM

I like the third one the best only because I think it ties in better with your center, but really, they all appear to be too busy and detract from the beauty of the center of your quilt.....IMHO.

mim 01-08-2012 12:39 PM

perfect with the narrow yellow and black
Mim

valsma 01-08-2012 12:41 PM

I really like that you went back and tried the solid borders. The center pops out of the frame you've made of those.
BTW, what is the pattern you used on that or what is that technique called? Is it a type of bargello? I love the look, it is beautiful.

carolaug 01-08-2012 12:43 PM

I love this one...the one with the narrow light border and wide black border.

imdelagarza62 01-08-2012 12:47 PM

I agree that they seem to distract from the center. Maybe something a little simpler and darker.

imdelagarza62 01-08-2012 12:49 PM

Well if I had looked at page 3, I would have seen that you changed it and it looks fantastic.

patiese1 01-08-2012 01:15 PM

I like the third.

malega 01-08-2012 03:29 PM

I think the third is very beautiful.

goosepoint 01-08-2012 04:02 PM

#3 is great I think.

Halo 01-08-2012 04:14 PM

The light yellow & black border is perfect. Really shows up your fantastic work & pattern. Really makes it pop. The others didn't do it justice.

callen 01-08-2012 04:17 PM

Your border

Of the 3 that you show I would pick #3 but having said that I feel that they are all too busy for the quilt. Your quilt is so beautiful that they detract from the design. I believe in the kiss principal - keep it simple sweetie. I think a plain rose border then add another one in black would make a stunning addition. That's just my opinion.

BSKTLOFR-QUILTER 01-08-2012 04:31 PM

My opinion is: Go with your creative side. I just read a pattern that said to always start with the border and then work with a pattern and colors to set it off. Ooops, that's not what I do so whatever I think may be going down the twisted path....but it's my path. I think the center of your quilt is marvelous. The 4th pic is conservative, beautiful, formal.
From my own experience go with your own creativity. If you want to do patchwork around it, maybe look at different designs or colors.

Peggy Jeanne 01-08-2012 04:34 PM

I also like the 3rd one!

QuiltingJaguar 01-08-2012 04:50 PM

I agree you should have a solid color border and not these listed.

Nanad5 01-08-2012 05:15 PM

I would choose the third one!

Sandee 01-08-2012 05:34 PM

I like #3 the best.

BrendaY 01-08-2012 05:48 PM

Beautiful quilt... I think the 3rd border looks terrific with it..

playswithcolor 01-08-2012 06:00 PM

i agree with the sentiments that the peiced borders detract from your center. My eye wants somewhere to rest or frame the center.

Since you asked, if it were mine, I would audition a skinny narrow border, to mimmic a double mat on a framed picture and then black. A soft textured fabric in a medium tone, similar to a mat might work if you want to expand the size of the quilt.

Nettie Phillips 01-08-2012 06:06 PM

I like the third one.

lfstamper 01-08-2012 06:13 PM

The third one has a lot of interest!

walkswithwolves 01-08-2012 06:38 PM

I think the third one.

SWEETPEACHES 01-08-2012 06:48 PM

I'm sorry, I didn't read all the responses but the first page. I agree that those borders take away from the quilt.

kathdavis 01-08-2012 07:19 PM

3rd one is my favorite

Ripped on Scotch 01-08-2012 07:22 PM

I like the 3rd the best.

grammy of 6 01-08-2012 07:45 PM

You nailed it with the yellow and black border! Really makes the quilt pop.

Ditto, me too.

Gilly 01-09-2012 04:27 AM

I like 3 also it seems to frame the center but what do you think of just doing it in all pink (no yellow) or all yellow ( no pink)? But then again I do like 1 also. Beautiful!

dove 01-09-2012 04:34 AM

I like the third one...nice quilt top!

RDM 01-09-2012 04:35 AM

I tend to agree with this comment. Audition a sample border before you do all.

None of them, they all detract from the quilt. Use a medium sized floral instead. Or black (like background) with accents of the darkest red/pink.

east side quilter 01-09-2012 04:38 AM

I agree with yourstruly quilts.

bloomingiris 01-09-2012 04:58 AM

Solid color to not take anything away from the beauty of the center

MJONW 01-09-2012 05:28 AM

None of these! I think your work is so beautiful, you need a simple solid color border or possibly two borders that are solid maybe the black and a blue that pulls the colors of the vase outside the picture and into the frame??? Just my opinion, sorry for the wordiness! Respectfully.

BeckyL 01-09-2012 05:31 AM

If I had to choose from just these options, I would choose the third one, however, I agree with others, that these borders are too bold and graphic for this beautiful fracture. I think they all draw attention away from it. Have you considered other options?

homecaregiver 01-09-2012 05:36 AM

I also would use a floral or a black first then the floral.
Pat

Nanjun 01-09-2012 06:03 AM

I like third one too

Rina 01-09-2012 06:07 AM

#3 is my choice.
